ITT: Signs the game is going to suck
>>3589780
>posting obvious bait
>>3589820
Wasnt electronic arts actually kinda cool back when
They made sim type games
>>3589787
To be fair, they have made some really good games, like Contra: Hard Corps and Castlevania: Bloodlines, but then there are the stinkers like Contra Force.
>>3589825
Yeah, that's why I picked the later logo.
The early logo was a good sign, anything with the circle logo has a 80% chance of being garbage, depending on the developer
>>3589821
bait? THQ published a ton of stinkers, and the only really good game I can think of from them isn't retro.
Just have a look at all these GRADE A HITS: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_THQ_games
I guess G-Darius is OKAY (polygonal graphics, no thx), and WWF No Mercy is supposedly well-regarded by fatherless boys.
Just glancing at this thread.
>Ubisoft
Rayman was good, though.
>THQ
Their N64 wrestling games were good, though.
>Konami
This is bait.
>3DO
Might & Magic/HoMM were good.
>EA
Despite being a scumbag company that guts talented studios and churns out filth on a regular basis, they've had quite a few enjoyable games throughout history.
>>3589780
>THQ
Not so subtle trolling. THQ easily had the bestnot retrolineup of licensed games in video game history.
>>3589875
>$COMPANY has a very small handful of good games
You're basically making the tacit admission that the vast majority of their titles are crap. Hence the pavlovian reaction when one of those fucking logos pops up on screen, you know there's a 95% chance you're in for a shitfest.
>>3589780
>>3589851
>red faction
Gyah! Fucking scary fans' attitudes!
>>3589884
Red Faction was the one good game I was mentioning, but it's not /vr/ so we don't talk about it. Even then it's really only like a 7-8/10 since the single player experience kind of falls apart late-game.
I did overlook In The Hunt though, that one rocks. Though Irem really gets the credit for that.
Is it really a coincidence that so many of these are european?
How about signs a game will be good?
>>3589887
Also not /vr/, but what about Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War? That game and Dawn of War 2 are both well-respected.
>>3589882
Wow it's almost like the majority of videogames have always been shit and underage kiddies like you only play the cream of the crop when it comes to retro games.
>>3589904
Was there really a need for two threads
This one's sort of borderline. More like "signs a game is going to be tolerable"
>>3589931
Acclaim wasn't too bad. They made
>Turok
>Shadow Man
>South Park 64
>the early console Simpsons games
>Maximum Carnage/Separation Anxiety
>Extreme-G
Well, looking at that list, I guess they were nothing special.

>taking this bait seriously
>>3589887
But, but, it's, well, red! It's commie! And so you have the people's-republican attitudes going hand in hand with being a fan of it.
>>3590054
>replying to obvious Sega fanboy fishing for replies
probably semefag too.
Anyway, pic related. I love their logo and the fanfare.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_tGsfjtHw8
Their games were always shitty. Like LJN, they were more like a publisher though.
>>3590052
nope ur wrong
>>3589810
Fuck you, the Army Men series was fun
Not trolling. Any game they released with their logo was bad.
They made some great NES games, but nothing worthwhile after that.
>>3590107
It's ok, as long as you know your opinion is unpopular.
I don't read moon.

Who says 4chan is just a bunch of angry trolls?
>>3589893
It's because a higher percentage of Europeans could use computers compared to Americans or Japs.
>>3590030
A E S T H E T I C S
>>3589762
Rayman was good though
>>3589846
I hope you realize you picked one of the good logos. EA didn't suck until Xbox 360 & PS3 started maturing, for example Most Wanted and Burnout Revenge in 2005 (not retro) were good output. Prior EA eras were pretty good, except for some shitty stuff like gobbling up studios, destroying Ultima Online, or whatever. What I mean is, EA then wasn't quite the devil we are used to now.
>>3590209
>2001 logo
>good
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Electronic_Arts_games
No way, dude. They started on the downward trend around 1994, and by 2001 they were already basically established into their current shovelware + dudebro juggernaut.
The dudebro shit is mostly post 2000, but there's plenty of pre- and post-2000 /vr/ stinkers in there.
>>3589818
Four hours and no AVGN hate? Huh.
>>3589762
>Rayman
>Gex
>Buck Bumble
>Rainbow Six
>>3589770
Prehistorik Man

>>3589780
They published tons of good games: In the Hunt
Ghost in The Shell
Broken Sword
Granstream Saga
Rugrats
Evil Dead
>>3589787
I won't even bite this one.
>>3589810
Captain Quazar?

>>3589876
Tons of good platformers? Toy Story 2?
Fuck off.
>>3589893
Nigger, are you seriously taking shit about Bugs Bunny Lost in Time?
Bugs Bunny and Taz Time Busters?
Hogs of War?

>Look mom, I am being le epic trolle on the 4chan hacker's forums!!
Incredible composition which happened to end up in a lot of crappy games.
>>3590259
>meme show picture
>shit taste
unsurprising
>>3589787
I agree, they never had a single truly outstanding game, silent hill came close though
>>3590271
>meme show picture
That's the joke.
>shit taste
>any game that isn't the half a dozen games I like is shit
>>3590209
>RIP Bullfrog
>RIP Origin
>RIP Pandemic
>RIP Maxis
>and all the others
EA has sucked for a long, long time man.
>>3590107
>Not trolling
I know. Just shit taste
>>3589880
I agree but for games after 2000
>>3589810
HOMM?
>>3590245
What were you expecting, anon?
People can have opinions that just happened to be shared with e-celebs. Not everyone is a parrot.
LJN was truly garbage, though.
>>3590339
All sonic games sucked though.
Interplay
https://youtu.be/GHcOB1aW1N8
>>3590107
What exactly went wrong with Rare, anyway? It seems like they went to shit sometime around '93 or '94. Did they lose some key employees around that time or something?
>ITT: tons of good studios and publishers
It's like I'm on /v/.
>>3590107
>not trolling
just contrarian.
>>3589762

I used to think that's what it was when I was your age.
