super sketchy website, and the game is split into 21 .egg archives, but the size of each archive seems about right. just change the file extension to .zip and use unzip or whatever.

I used an extractor to gut out the contents of the .cab file on the disk image. It boots up fine with sound (though you only see the full menu with compatibility mode).

HOWEVER, once you actually get in game, only your torso renders, regardless of class. Music and sound plays and you can move around but everything is pretty much grey, see pic related.

I think it might be a DirectX issue. I'm also running Windows 10 as well, so if anyone with a lower OS could attempt installing from the original disc (see >>3590058 )

It kinda worked for me. The title screen background didnt appear, though, but I could move freely by the town. The dungeons walls didnt render so it was all pitch black. Lost any interest after that.

You very likely have to use AppLocale to fake Japanese Windows environment.

It's not needed. It can be installed fine in Windows XP VM, but it crashes because of no D3D.

Maybe turning off UAC will work. The installer is 16-bit which is fine for 32-bits, so forget about it if you're using 64-bit Windows, you'll need some workaround.

Yeah I looked it up - it's a compatibility thing.

The game install contains all the bits though - so if someone with an older OS installed it normally and uploaded the install folder, newer users might be able to play it.

I tried exploring data1.cab (where the whole game is packed on the disk) but it was locked out - only one bit of software forcefully extracted it leading me to believe it excluded most of the files in the output folder.
Hence, a proper install on an OS that can actually run the installer may fix things.

That should be just fine, anything less than Windows 8 should be good really.

Just try and mount the .iso (from >>3590058)
and run the installer, then upload the installed files (I think it's portable).

Have you guys tried extracting the installer? Supposedly, this is a solution for certain games with 16-bit installers, I don't know how that shit works, but look it up.

Any more success installing?
