Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is still the perfect 2D beat em up for 2 players, it didn't even age.

Same can be said for games like Ninja Warriors Again, games with perfect timing will still have perfect timing no matter the age.

It's the other way around. Many 8 bit games look like a hot mess, though many also look good. It's far more of an acquired taste and is bare bones. The 16 bit era however is arguably the prettiest generation even to this day. The games age very well when done right.

Less memory on cart compared to CD format = less room for big textures. The way the N64 loaded textures was weird too.

I don't know if "aging badly" is the correct analogy, but I do tend to prefer 8 bit games myself, compared to 16 bit games. I also like the 64 bit era, but I consider it a different category. I don't compare 2d games with 3d ones.

I think some 8 bit games had a stronger style, because they had to compromise a lot due to limitations.
While 16 bit ones had a harder time because you needed some serious art design to accomodate the increase in resolution, and some games just tried to be as realistic as possible, which dates them terribly. Either that or they had just bad or rushed design which just makes them look terrible.
