Yes, it was.
One of the worst puzzle in point & click I've ever played. People complains about absurd inventory puzzles all the time, but at least those follow the rules previously established in the game.
And even if you're thinking outside the box, the execution is so clunky you'll probably fail anyay, which is the worst part.
