Question: are there any western RPGs with a similar plot and cast to Xenogears or Suikoden 2?
Please attempt to communicate.
No, there are no WRPGs that are JRPGs.

There are no more games left to conquer, namefag.
Time to change to a new hobby.

There are none of that calibur and scope.

I'm not you.

Is there anything at least somewhat equivalent?
>>3587582
I dunno, wrpgs are usually light on story/narrative and big on freedom
I hear planescape torment is praised for its story (don't know if it's similar to suikoden 2 and xenogears) so you might want to give it a try

-likes 2 really terrible jrpgs on a system full of classics, check
Ya blew it

The two games I like aren't the only games I like.

Say what you want about the cancerous tripfag but leave Xenogears & suikoden 2 alone.

Not even that guy but:
Suikoden 2, I can give a pass, it's OK.
Xenogears is unredeemable. It's awful. It has horrible pacing, shit gameplay, and it just straight up isn't finished despite all that.
You go through 20+ hours of garbage, to be culiminated by a fucking exposition dump of the MC literally sitting in a chair.
Chrono Cross is kind of between the two.
Grandia II has a similar feel to Xenogears; it's simpler for sure, but the basic plot outline has some unmistakable parallels.
Anything else I have would either be a stretch or not retro.
