I mean, I only paid $20 or $30 for my Virtual Boy brand new in like 1998 but by that time I'm sure R-Zones were in the dollar bin.

I really couldn't tell you why i wanted it, i just remember being really ineterested in it for some reason, plus i was a really big fan of Wario at the time

I remember buying not one, but 2 r-zones.

The first one was the one OP has in pic, the second was a handheld version (still used the same cartridges).
It really was some damn good marketing.

hah I remember getting that for christmas. I thought it was pretty cool but got bored of it really fast. Also owned the superscreen that came with battle arena toshinden.

The R-Zone has the only version of panzer dragoon that I never played.

It's probably shit, but i'll journey to play it anyway.

It's pretty advanced for a Tiger game. There's even different viewpoints over each wing, to target enemies attacking you from the sides.

It wasn't good, but it was ambitious for such limited hardware. Also, if you played longer than a couple of minutes, everything you saw out of your right eye had an ugly pink tint to it after turning it off.

As someone who liked Tiger games for what they were (fucking 5 minute time wasters, the old equivalent of flash games), I actually didn't outirhgt hate the R-Zone... however, I knew from the trailer alone this was not a console at all, let alone taht it was going to compare to the Game Boy (I think Pocket around the time) at all.

Having said that, I always played it on mute.

How long until we start seeing r-zones and their games going for ridiculous prices? I would think after the AVGN episode it would have spiked quite a bit.
