80$ Whort it ?
>>
Why not get a real NES for that amount of money?
>>
Just buy a Wii and softmod it. You'll be able to get a hell of a lot more games. Unless, you know, You actually want to support Nintendo, which is nice...

Personally I think the product itself is kind of shitty though. I'd never want to play old ass NES games through HDMI.
>>
>>3575206
It's never the original hardware that's cost prohibitive, it's the games.
>>
>>3575209
yeah i think it would be weird
>>
What would 8 bit brody do?
>>
>>3575210
flashcarts are like a hundred bucks... yeah I don't want to shell out for it either but I play the shit enough it's justifiable
>>
>>3575197
No. Get a wii and mod it. Or a laptop.
>>
>>3575209
>>3575349
This, or if you want to play on "real hardware" get yourself a famicom and a couple good multicarts.
>>
>>3575197
I'd wait for the mini-SNES depending on the games it has.
>>
hip-fags everywhere, fucking emulate it for free, unlike these fucking mouth breathers
>>
i want to get my dad one for christmas, i think he'll love it.
>>
A Raspberry Pi costs like $35 and can play as many NES games as you want.
>>
>>3575887
That's only the board. You still need things like storage media or peripherals to actually play games.
>>
>>3575907
As long as you don't get a memeberry you can get all that for much less than $35.
>>
>>3575887
Yeah but the layman doesn't know what to do with just a Pi, where to get parts, how to put it together, how to do that safely and functionally, how to make it run.

The average Joe doesn't even know how to begin to solder, and some people just probably shouldn't even try.
>>
I'll buy one for my mother's husband
>>
>>3575197

If you don't feel like modding or emulating, and you need to make Nintendo slightly more money than they already have, then go for it.

The mini Famicom holds more interest for me for some of it's exclusives and it's look although it will probably cost more to import than buying the real thing and some of the games exclusive to it that interest me
>>
>>3576480
Have you taken a gander at the controller though?
Hope you got babyhands.
>>
>>3576495
I thought it can pair Wii controllers?
>>
>>3576495

is the nes controller little ?
cuz i have pretty big hands
>>
>>3576604
No. The NES Classic Controller is a 1:1 replica of a real NES controller.

The Famicom Classic Controller, however, is much smaller than the original Famicom controller and is wired into the Famicom Mini - it cannot be removed or used on the Wii/Wii U.

Not everyone lives in a country devoid of copyright law, anon.
>>
I bet Pat the NES Punk would love one of these. He could even do his completely unnecessary letsvplays on one of these.
>>
>>3576797
definitely. I hope Pat and Ian get to some lets plays on some of the 2-player games as well.
maybe Pat will even make a Pat the Nes Punk episode out of it. that would sure be fun to watch!
>>
>>3576617
ok thank u
>>
>>3577115
go away
>>

>unnecessary letsvplays

As opposed to what? Manditory letspvplays?
>>
im sure you and your wife will enjoy it and go back and play all those nostalgic games from long ago.
>>
>>3575197
>$80
Why, did the scalpers already buy every copy being released?

to maximize profit off suckers not knowing any better just like anything else they buy
>>
>>3575197
If I were you I'd get an AVS plus a flash cart.
>>
>>3577296
that's probably the maple price lad.

I'm interested in just buying a few of the controllers to use with a wii personally.
>>
>>3576797

He's already gone on the record saying it's a great deal. Which, for an official Nintendo product anyway, isn't an inaccurate statement.

If people are willing to pay for roms, fuck it. Let 'em.
>>
>>3576797
>>3576805
Is all this Pat the NES Punk crap on this board made by Pat and Ian or is it just ironic shilling?
>>
>no cartridge connectors to blow on

0/10 missing a required feature
>>
>>3575197
You should. Leave the real hardware to people who care enough to appreciate it. Don't emulate. new new Nintendo is fueled by the shekels of hipsters. And kitten tears.
>>
>>3577705
Imagine if they implemented a tiny microphone into the cartridge bay that you'd have to blow into every now and then,
>>
>>3577847
they should artificially age the white plastic on it to a yellowish-beige too, like it's been sitting in a dusty rec room filled with cigarette smoke for a few decades.

like how guitar companies sell new guitars that come pre-worn and faded
>>
>>3575197
Yes, and you should sell it to a desperate parent for twice as much and use the proceeds to buy an actual NES.
>>
>>3577843
Okay you're just spamming now
>>
>>3577668
I think it's ironic shitposting made by people who think some fags on YouTube liking/not liking some old games retroactively infringes on their own childhood memories.

And some contrarians, like the odd person who'll argue "No, NES Dragon's Lair was actually really good and everyone loved it until that damn AVGN changed everyone's opinion and ruined everything, nobody hated that game until YouTube came around"
>>
>>3577827

>>

Same here. It can't be too far off surely?
>>

>>3577296
Wasn´t it $60? Also when it is coming? The Switch already got a date yet not this.

I put a pi 3 in a broken nes. With 4 ibuffalo controllers, a circuit that let's me use the original power and reset buttons and everything else it cost about $300. But it plays everything up to ps1/n64 and mame, so tit for tat I have 10 times the amount of games for multiple systems and it outputs to a crt-tv
>>
>>3578061
He's still right, you know. Why else do you think Nintendo games have become outrageously expensive (and even non-nintendo like Sega CD or Saturn) compared to 5 years ago?
>>
>>3578196
I don't buy physical retro games so I wouldn't know.
>>
>>3578078
they do it because people buy it and you bought it so you are helping keep the trend alive

also
>buying company logo tshirts
>paying a company to advertise their company

you got double scammed
>>
>>3578715
nah he bought it for that sick retro hipster cred
>>
>>3578718
exactly, he is a useful idiot, Nintendo's primary target demographic.
>>
>>3578721
I sure do love console warring.
>>
>>3576620

Apparently the layman I'm replying to thinks there's dangerous high voltage on a Pi or something. Or maybe you're worried you'll poke yourself in they eye with the soldering iron?
You literally just plug in a USB cable for power and an HDMI cable to your TV for video kiddo.
>>
>>3579239
>Apparently the layman I'm replying to thinks there's dangerous high voltage on a Pi or something.
I'm saying the average chucklefuck would risk ruining circuits or starting fires with the soldering iron, I don't think it's reasonable to expect just anyone to do that stuff correctly, most people will disappoint you.

I saw plenty of really dumb shit in shop class, there were constant warnings about the proper use of lineseed oil and storage, and the teacher (who was missing fingers) having to do half the job for them to prevent the school from burning down at night. How many people from your highschool class do you personally think would avoid fucking up putting a PI together, even with instructions?

Half of the population shouldn't be expected to do things like these themselves, the fact that business exists based on this fact is pretty telling.
>>
>>3575437
>>3578095
Maybe in a year or two if this thing sells.
>>
i thought it was $60?
Also, this thing isn't for us. It's for people who forgot that Nintendo even made games after the 90s. It's basically only for people who want to replay old NES games without having to go to LRGS or dealing with eBay.
>>
>>3579560
There's no soldering involved with a pi setup. I just said that to make fun of how stupid you sounded. Since that went over your head I have to reassess exactly how retarded you are. I don't deny that many people are too retarded to play with sharp hot objects. But there are none involved with a pi.
>>
>>3580823
nobody forgot that Nintendo makes games.
Wii sales were through the roof. tons of normies bought it for Wii Fit.
>>
>>3578150
If you do a quick search you'll see that it's indeed $60 and it comes out 11/11.
>>
>>3575197
its only $60
>>
>>3583434
Yup that's what you'll see if you do a quick search. You won't be able to buy one for $60 but you'll feel mighty smug. And we'll get to giggle at a dumb kid. So win-win?
>>
>>3575209
This.

The new controllers are compatible with the Wii
