When was the last time you were afraid of booting up a game?

I think I was grounded from playing Pokemon Stadium and I snuck in a run through the Gym Leader Towers while my parents were at work. I had to take it from my dad's hiding place to do it.

Actually the original Silent Hill. I haven't played it since the release, never finished it. Sold and didn't think about it until I saw the trailer for SH3 and it looked really good, got a really positive feeling from it somehow.

Watched the movie and liked it a lot (because they ignore all normal logic and behave like it was a game). Saw SH1 at a second hand store and got it, but after booting it once and dying at the first enemy 5 times I haven't touched it. I can't believe the controls are so hard to get back into again, I never had a problem with it back then.

I also live in the countryside with no street lights, and mostly alone at night. It's close to pathetic I'm aware of that, but I just can't bring myself to play that game when it's totally black outside. I even got a PsX specifically to play Resident Evil and now I'm too scared to play another horror game, just can't stand the jumpscares and the darkness outside here any longer.

I got to the final part of Romancing SaGa 2 and I'm afraid to boot it back up because I'm pretty sure I'm fucked and I don't want to restart the whole game just yet.

I just took the last planet taken by the Drengin Empire in my zone, and have the rest of races allied and with a no war pact.
I have set a "victory" trigger but I would probably stop now since I feel I just won the game.
