What kinds of CRT? 15 or 31Khz? And how have you got it hooked up?

That's extremely blurry, you'd be better off playing on LCD

i plan to do the same, my vga to video chinkshit is on it's way.

noticed just now that you have n64 and mega drive. if it looks close enough i wouldn't bother with settings.
>>
>>3564732
What did you use?
>>
>>3564732
How did you do it?

I am trying to do the same thing on my CRT

What converter did you use?
Have you noticed any lag?

I've also hooked up a couple PCs to CRT TVs. In my experience, the best setup is using and old video card with native S-video output.

No lag whatsoever. I play steam games (DOOM, CS:GO) on there too.

It's not bad, does the trick.

You mean no noticeable lag. You should do a test, I can't imagine that Chinese convertor box is processing anything without losing frames.

They don't lag because it's not a digital to analogue conversion like it would be if you were trying to convert HDMI or some shit. The downside to these things is that they only ever output 480i which is flickery as fuck and doesn't the scanline meme. The picture can be kind of noisy as well, at least the one I had which actually had RGB through a jamma connector.

Basically what I'm doing right now is using this site:
http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl

to come up with a custom modeline which I then apply to linux using this guide:
https://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/877

you have to juggle between refresh rate and horizontal khz while trying to get the kilhz as close to 15.75 as possible.

I think it will work with any GPU as long as you have linux. Mine is a HD6950 but I have tried it with a GTX970 on windows and it worked but it's hard to do the same thing on windows to the point where having a separate box with linux on it is worth it.

and that works pretty good for outputting the actual native resolution of a console through my graphics card e.g. 256x240 for NES and SNES. The only problem I have is that it doesn't fill my screen properly. I don't know if Horizontal sync time and vertical sync time down the bottom will allow me to fix that, I haven't looked into those at all. The vertical position is already set to max on my monitor, but it can still stretch vertical quite a bit more so if I could lower the position just a bit it would be good.
