Not quite Donkey Kong, but very close.. My parents are fairly wealthy and owned a bunch of cabinets when I was growing up (still have a few) and this was one of them. I've never seen it anywhere else, though I'm sure it exists. It has weird sound effects, but is identical in gameplay to DK. The level 1 skip glitch even works on it. Anyone else ever come across this monstrosity?

Half the levels are much easier, and the other half are literal jokes.

Provided the player knows of Mario's new moves anyway, and even if they don't, Mario doesn't automatically die if he falls from a height greater than his own jumps, so it's still easier.

I'd to say that I love all forms of DK I have ever played.

Specifically, NES Donkey Kong Classics, Donkey Kong 94 on GB, and the cream-- Mario vs Donkey Kong for GBA

They're also not accurate reproductions, since the levels in the GB version are shorter to compensate for the lower resolution. There's a much more accurate reproduction of arcade version's Level 1 in the final world.
