Is it weird that I love Uematsu but hate the majority of Final Fantasy games?

I'm a huge fan of Crystal Chronicles and its spinoffs, although I understand that wasn't composed by Uematsu. I absolutely adore The Last Story though, and I consider it to be one of his best OST.

When I listen to his music, there's a definite feeling of his own interpretation of the characters, locations, and story beats, but I find the aesthetic and gameplay of FF to clash with the music a lot.

Just rambling, sorry.

That was the limitations fault not his. You could say that it is his in a way for not understanding chiptunes as well but that doesn't change his abilities as shown by updated versions of the original trilogy ost's. He always new since the beginning how to make good music.

He already produced a masterpiece with FF7's soundtrack, surrounded by the greats that are 4,5,6, 8, and 9's.

Why not retire when you have that to your name.
