Playing RE2 dual shock on EPSXE. Just going to try to throw out some random screenshots.
Another no reflection.
The Dumpster on the left, why did anybody in the right mind (I doubt a zombie would care to throw out a bag of garbage) throw a bag UNDER the main metal/steel lid which probably weight a fucking bit instead of just using the provided plastic door on it?. The bag is stuck between that metal lid and the rest of the garbage thing.
I JUST crossed that door after I mutilated everybody. There's a bunch of new zombies that popped up out of nowhere?.
>>3538238
They were laying on the ground dead. They get up when you run by.

It's a dumpster, someone obviously dragged it there to slow down the zombies.

Its ps1. Ofc no reflection.
No plants?. Where do they come from later?
Who the hell is JoJo?
Black dude pretended he was fucked up then as soon as I step out he stood up and locked me the fuck out?.
Look dude everyone knows RE2 is a garbage game, we really didn't need this thread
>>3538306
It's probably the nickname your wife's son uses.
>These ramps
Is those two gigantic ramps JUST for handicapped people? or was there another reason?.
Does it even offset the floor/ceilings of the rooms on each level?.
>>3538314
It's not dumbass, it's a reference to another Capcom game. Go tell your wife's son what I just taught you.
I've been standing here for a minute and this licker still doesn't see me. He keeps dripping blood. Why doesn't he run out of blood?. How does he stick to the ceiling?.
I hit F1 to save in the emulator and shit dude stopped dripping wtf?.
I leave the room, come back and stand in the same position. He is dripping again but this time with a different drip pattern. I hit F8 to save a snapshot and he stops dripping again.
Is the emulator aware of my keystroke and sending it INTO the game?.
Is that a nude female smurf?.
What's past that door on the left? and what's the green sign mean in front of it?.
If I push this statue in the VERY corner, is it true I can't pull it out and get the gem?.
>>3538334
Nope. I pushed it in the corner, then just left the room, came back and it was magically pushed right back to that same position.
At this point I can't imagine them hanging crt's like that. Those things seem so damn heavy compared to flat screens now.
>>3538342
>seem so damn heavy
Underage
>>3538349
Yeah right. Those things are heavy. Don't tell me you could just climb up a ladder and that thing would weight as little as a flat screen to you. That TV right there probably weighs the same as my 60" in my living room it's just smaller.
>>3538236
It's full, you idiot.
>>3538374
SO the right answer is to waste your energy living the ENTIRE top plate? and then shutting it ON the bag as opposed to leaving the bag just outside on the floor? or even maybe stuck halfway in the plastic door or even just leave it thrown on top of the fucking thing?.
anon this bait thread is shit
>>3538358
>>3538342
I have walked into hundreds of stores with mounted CRTs. They're anywhere from 14-20 inches and it isn't dangerous. They have ceiling mounted chassis what create a platform and hold the CRT. A Party City near me STILL has a crappy 20" CCTV hooked up right when you walk in directly above you.
>>3538301
MGS had mirror reflections.
>>3538380
First, let me just say your thread is awful and you are probably underage, but I'm still going to humor you.
It's clearly a garbage bin for an apartment complex. Most people who live in places like that constantly fill the bins past the max capacity (hence the lid being open with a bag sticking out).
>SO the right answer is to waste your energy living the ENTIRE top plate? and then shutting it ON the bag as opposed to leaving the bag just outside on the floor?
People are idiots, anon. Maybe the last person to use the trash bin thought it was a good idea to open the lid. No one really knows. You can also clearly see other trash bags around those bins because of how full they are.
>>3538413
Alright, well my thread sucks, I agree. What the fuck do you want me to?. Magically whip up a good thread?. This is what I came up with. I figure anyone that wants to discuss what I'm posting can contribute and agree or whatever comment or just stay out. This board is slow so I didn't think i was fucking anyone over by starting it since it looks like this board isn't moving anyways. I'm not under age. I'm 34 with some free time on my hands so much playing some RE2 on my pc. I really was thinking this shit was going to be up /vr/'s alley but I really didn't know I would offend anyone to the point of causing someone a stroke.
>>3538420
>I'm 34
You really should feel bad.
>>3538430
I don't. I just wonder how old you guys are and that I hope when I reach your age I don't bite someone's head off when they attempt to post screenshots of ps1 gameplay.
I really wasn't aware at just how passionate you guys are with /vr/ and obviously I broke some rule I didn't know about.
I'm glad I haven't sunk the level of hoarding ACTUAL consoles and catridges otherwise I would probably be as edgy.

I'm glad someone liked it.
I remember when this kind of threads used to be a thing on /v/... a decade go.
But /vr/ is too slow for that, you're missing a tripname, and you get triggered way too easily by trolling. That's 3 reasons why it doesn't work. Polite sage.
You should be playing the PC version(s) btw. Or if you really want to emulate, emulate the Dreamcast version.

I'm a bit of a dragonfag. But I can't stand this fucking bullshit.
>>3538228
>pre-rendered backgrounds
>expecting a reflection
>>3538409
MGS is 3D modeled all the way through. RE2 has pre-rendered backgrounds.
Also MGS graphics quality wasn't upped by much when they abandoned the 3DO version and ported it to the new hardware, so reflection wouldn't be that taxing anyway.
>>3538490
>You should be playing the PC version(s) btw.
I'm going to replay RE2 this month and will settle on the PC version (the download I'm looking at is the Platinum Edition). Does this version have controller support?
If not, is there a version that does have controller support?

I never said that RE2 sould've had working mirrors, I simply pointed out that there is a pre-rendered backgrounds game that did have them.
>>3538420
What is the point of this thread? You're posting a screenshot and saying some retarded things, like you've never played a videogame before.
>>3539119
The point of the thread was to post pictures of retro gameplay
It is that simple. It that reason isn't good enough to start a thread then fuck I really didnt know it wasn't a good enough reason. I didn't know this thread was breaking rules.
>>3539130
/vr/ is full of a bunch of bitter losers. I'm sorry your thread was met with so much hostility.
>>3539143

>It does, however have more errors than other versions. For example, there have been reports of problems regarding saving the game, and just like the Dreamcast versions, some rooms have missing soundtracks.
Just download the widely available SOURCENEXT ISO. Unless you're super rusty or you've never played before, the moonrunes won't get in the way--only the dialogue that prints on screen is in Japanese; the audio and images are still English. There's a translation patch if you need it that badly, anyway.
The SOURCENEXT version recognized my Xbox controller and I didn't even need to remap anything, I was blown away. And I installed it on Win7x64 with literally 0 issues. (It's too bad that the Xbox dpad is and will always be shit.)
For such an old game (a port no less!), there was a miraculously nonexistent level of asspain involved in getting it to run. Why can't everything be like this? I can't even get Bloodlines to run without lying to my system about how much RAM is installed.
My only gripe is that I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out how to get the game to run in fullscreen, and having my desktop in the background really pulled me out of the atmosphere. So I just emulated it.
>>3539185
Alright, I figured it was some troll. Thanks for the support again. I still am not sure why people hate this thread so much. Really is interesting. I mean it's an image board right?.
I figure aren't there enough threads with real discussions that they can sacrifice just one to some dude posting his gameplay?. What thread do they need to occupy this spot?.
I guess I'll do a SNES vs Genesis thread next time.

Huh that's kind of interesting. Maybe after rendering it, a designer changed the side the room is entered on.. so they just flipped the art to keep the direction of movement feeling correct?
>>3540928
The interesting thing that I noticed with all these screenshots and analyzing the details I realized a lot of things are mirrored. It's not just that one instance. There must have been some kind of processing that lead to this stuff being mirrored.
>>3540928
Damn also interesting is that I have played this game and beat it so many times and pretty much go by instinct and reflex and memory through this game.
If the entire games was flipped/mirrored It would totally mess up my flow.
>>3540952
I'm surprised Capcom never considered that along with the arrange mode in later games (can't remember if this one had one). It wouldn't take too much work to do, would it?
>>3540979
It would probably take up a lot more space on discs. flipping the game would mean needing an entire CD worth of pre-rendered images and stuff and they'd also need to make sure the videos matched up.

It doesn't make any sense in the real world to have a ceiling fan running this slow. I doubt anybody being chased by zombies changed the speed of the fan before they tried to defend themselves or run away from them. They ACTUALLY HAD this fan running this speed just for show and to waste electricity.
Thing is I've been to real life places that do this shit.

What was that Licker crawling on? was there another wall one foot apart facing the window?, and also how did this dude get INSIDE the police building so quickly if he was just outside?. Why didn't he just bust right through the window and come at me?. Why the waiting?. Why the drama?.

Yo, I'm emulating the Gamecube version of this right about now and it's running pretty well. I heard that the Dreamcast version has 60 FPS so I was interested in trying that out, but I've tried like three different Dreamcast emulators and all of them run like shit or have fucked up audio, and old games with 30 FPS don't really bother me. What's the best version of the game? Should I give the N64 version a shot after I play the Gamecube version?

Just checked, Gamecube's a straight port of the Dualshock version. Just checked ingame with an FPS counter and no matter what RE2's 30 FPS, but the loading doors are 60. Apparently people rated the Gamecube version like shit because it was 40 bucks and there was already a port for the Dreamcast released a year prior for 19.99.
>>3541421
If that's the case I would go for the Gamecube.
I've never seen the N64 version in action but I can only imagine it being worse graphic wise being limited to the cartridges. The way I'm playing now PS1 version on my PC is great with emulators because the restitution and graphics are a bit better than original console and I can save and use gameshark codes and stuff.
I don't have all the time on my hands but I'm on a little vacation so I'm just blowing time fucking around with RE2 and emulators for a couple days.

RE3 has "Burger Kong" too.
>>3542305
HAHA, awesome. I knew I wasn't crazy.
RE3 has a lot more fun details to find and explore.
The thing is though, that a LOT of it doesn't make sense because the player wasn't supposed to be able to read it on PS1 due to the lowres backgrounds, but when using the PC versions you can totally read everything and realize that. Like the "catholic church school" sign that is absolutely everywhere , but only to add "detailing" and you're not supposed to be able to see it.
