PSP. I know there's better shit at this point, but I got it for dirt cheap and it actually exceeded my expectations (SNES emulation is better than people make it out to be, possibly due to updates).

IMO, having to lug the extra hardware around kind of nullifies the portability aspect. At least that person understands the importance of physical controls.

I find the PSP is sufficient for my needs. A second stick would be nice, but I probably won't be using it for anything /vr/ anyway. I could seriously use more shoulder buttons, though.

I've been using the NES30 Pro with it's phone clip. I had a DS4 setup similar to OPs but this fits in my bag a lot better.

I use this, it's nice. Unlike the previous shitty version, this one doesn't require a 3rd party app to work with emulators.

I just carry a PSP in my purse. Works for me. Probably tougher to fit in pockets though for that to be viable for most.

I use the Moga for emulators and it is also one of the better controllers for gear VR.

Speaking of VR, I hope they make more retro arcade apps for it. Seeing the old pacman artwork on the machine and looking around while you play it just felt awesome.

Depends on what I'm playing, how long I'll be playing, whether I need to use my phone. I have at least half a dozen options available. Including a controller I rarely use because it looks like your goofy clip thing.

I use a wikipad. It runs all the android emulators smoothly except for ppsspp. It can only handle a few games smoothly on ppsspp.

I also use the Moga Hero Power. I sort of hate the analog triggers though, they exert a lot of resistance when you pull them, it almost feels spongey. I'd much rather have trigger buttons, or at least some combination of analog and button triggers like on the gamecube controller.

It should run GBA and SNES just fine. Even my old x8 runs them full speed.

Decent for GBA. Usable for SNES RPGs. Worthless for anything more. It's a very old device and was under powered at launch.

I run Retroarch on my phone with the states and saves directory synced to my NAS.
This also two-way syncs with my PC and my android TV in my living room.
Doing this allows me to pick up from where I left off on any device with any emulated platform.
Pretty neat.

Did they fix it yet where the attract mode plays audio? Last I looked into it only your current game had audio.

The best part of old arcades was the mix of background noise from all the other machines and the jukebox music.

New retro arcade has the visuals but last I checked the audio had limitations.

I just got one of these yesterday and I'm liking it. The triggers are pretty crap, and the face buttons are unresponsive at times, but all in all, it's decent. I'm just waiting for my GPD to come in, then I should be set.
