You're wrong about the Earth anagram thing. That was never the intent. Look into the Earisu thing if you'd like, although you probably won't.

There is no japanese -th sound. -su names are translated to english as both -s or as -th. The reason SCEA went with -s is because "Aeris" flows in english, and "Aerith" sounds awkward and lispy.

The only reason die hards give a ashit anymore is because they fucked up the continuity with other translations and enough neckbeards banded together where Aerith became the norm due to their innate desires to be contrarian.
