Oh man, I remember I loved these games. This one was the Legend of Kyrandia series. Also Monkey Island games! So much great stuff. I say you really can't lose with Lucasarts and Sierra.

This one has amazing humour, graphics, sound and music, but bad puzzles IMO.
The most solid of the Lucasarts graphic adventures is definitely MI2, although I really hate some of its bullshit puzzles (ash-2-life anyone?). Day of the Tentacle takes the prize of the most balanced in terms of difficulty and amusement.
