I also got pretty good at speed running the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time when I decided to do a 3 heart no death run. I've basically got the game memorized up until after the long shot.

Speedrunning is not /vr/. It's an unrelated hobby for children, as evident in OP's pic. The fact that simple (and therefore usually old) games are commonly played is completely incidental. Don't forget to take your Ritalin.

I can beat Mega Man X1 2 and 3 in around an hour, but I've never really "timed" it out.

I know the optimum route to 100% get stuff in like Demon's Crest but I've never bothered to speedrun.

I 1CC games like Sunset Riders but that's not necessarily "speedrunning" is it?

I do try and not dawdle while I play, but I don't autistically go after the fastest time.

I dont see anything wrong with speedrunning as long as it doesn't gas someone's head up and leave with this "i'm better than everyone else because I can beat this game fastest". Now that I think about it maybe everyone that hates speedrunning with a passion is jealous of speedrunners because even with 50,000 confirmed hours of playing any single game they still can't get good.
