Has anyone noticed the following with the Pandemonium/Puzzle Me contests in US game magazines?
>Almost all the time, the mystery word is almost always "power"
>The contest requires the user to pay an entry fee, which is illegal according to FTC (dunno if skill are involved makes entry fees legal, however)
>>3501538
they were a scam, allowed by magazine publishers for a cut.
>>3501542
For what cut? Percentages?
>>3501557
I dunno man, I'm not the IRS.
I probably just made that up.
But you have to wonder why magazines would just allow scammers to advertise in their magazines for years if they had nothing to gain from it
I remember reading somewhere - possibly here - that to this day, the winners of these competitions still haven't received all or any of the prizes.
They lasted long into the sixth gen. VERY few people won, a few winners even had to coerce the people in charge for prizes of any value.
