It depends too much on how you play.
Promote at level 20 and your mages will be great while your bare hand fighters will suck.
Promote at level 10 and the opposite happens.
The RGN is also too extreme to properly measure your chacters with just 1 or 2 gameplays.

I can tell you don't know Shining Force very well if that >>3500158 is your list though.

Adam is inferior to Zylo, Bleu and Musashi. How the fuck Musashi is just ok?
Gong won't heal as well as Khris and Torasu, and his damage is almost as bad.

Yeah but Adam is freaking Adam. I totally go through the trouble of leveling him up late-game every time because he's freaking Adam

Same for Gong. They are cool so I go through the effort of making them useful. In the end it's about who you like the most.

This is too true. The character stats change too drastically depending on when you promote them. For example, Hans is worse than Diane if both are promoted at ten, but he edges her out if they're both promoted at twenty.

If you never use Egress then all the characters with damage spells will be by far the best since they can't miss and ignore armor.
