I'm thinking along the lines of RPGs, but surprise me.
What do you feel are the most engrossing games, the ones that eat your brain, that keep you in another world, that have meat, that give you a good amount of time and especially that make you feel things during the process of playing.
I've heard good things about Legend of Mana. I also got hold of Suikoden and SaGa Frontier-- are any of these right for what I am looking for?
I appreciate your input.

non rpg:
- Shadow Man
- legacy of kain series
- cry of fear (half life mod)
- rayman revolution (rayman 2 port for the ps2 whit some extra open world features)
- urban chaos
- spyro the dragon
There are so many great RPGs for the SNES.
-Terranigma
-Illusion of Gaia
-Secret of Evermore
Those three are must plays imo
Going for 1CCs on challenging arcade games (like Alien vs. Predator or Ghouls 'n Ghosts) is super engrossing.

I have found trying to play Genesis Ghouls n Ghosts is quite engaging.
Super GnG is interesting but the mechanics are odd.
At least for me
