You like some cyberpunk /vr/? Been thinking about playing this game out again, it's pretty fun. Let's have a nice thread about high tech low life cyberpunk retro games.

>You like some cyberpunk /vr/?
Some of the best retro games are in that category.
Now that the dust has settled, prove that Mark V ShadowRun had a worse retro feel than Stupor Nintendo ShadowRun. Protip:you can't.

Wasn't there a Shadowrun made in Japan for the Sega CD? Was that ever translated?
>>3488528
You already posted the best one tho.
>>3488612
What's so bad about super nintendo shadowrun?
>>3488528
Serious answer: either of the first two pokemon games. pic related doesn't do it justice but the RGB and GSC had this really interesting urban punk aesthetic.

>What's so bad about super nintendo shadowrun?
Main argument was that it didn't have mouse support.
>>3488612
sne game shits all over the genesis game in terms of music, story and atmosphere, though
>>3488579
There is a fan translation in the works for the Sega CD Shadowrun game, look it up.
>>3488528
The sequel was better, but the first one is still pretty good.
>>3488579
It's already been translated in a youtube video, though it was only artificially translated through youtube captions and not actually a patched playable file.
Unfortunately that video seems to have been taken down.

Cool

Unfortunately, both SNES and Megadrive versions are shitty games. I'm not sure how there's always people bickering about which is better in threads like this. They're both bad for different reasons. Megadrive version was grindy with terrible, one dimensional combat. SNES version for some reason didn't support the mouse and was a pain in the ass to play because of it. Pity the Sega CD version never got translated, we might have actually had a decent retro Shadowrun game. But we don't, and in fact, the only good Shadowrun games are the recent Shadowrun Returns and it's expansions/sequels.
The worst part is that Shadowrun Returns easily could have been made in the 90's, probably on PC, but it wasn't. So it goes.

I didnt play Cybermage much, but holy shit it was great.
>>3491675
true
snes shadowrun has really great atmosphere but yeah the gameplay isn't very fun.
>>3488719
How would people like it if it did use the SNES mouse?
first stage of rad gravity
>>3491675
>the only good Shadowrun games are the recent Shadowrun Returns and it's expansions/sequels.
Opinion fucking discarded
Get some fucking taste you retard
They're not even good by the lowest of the low standards set by CRPGs
>>3493503
They wouldn't like it because they still never played it (and are parroting what they heard). Also it's in comparison to the Sega version which is supposedly much better but I never played it.
>>3488579
it was a vn with occasional srpg battles
>>3494780
I was gonna say that, but I didn't feel like talking to an idiot. I heard everyone ranting about how it was like a "remade version of the genesis game!" I was lied to.
>>3494780
While the linear gameplay is a let down, you have to admit and writing and characters are worlds above the 16 bit games.
>>3494780
Dragonfall and Hongkong are pretty good. Returns sucks.
does Flashback count as cyberpunk? Because it's in my top three favourite videogames of all time.
They're trying to reboot sys shock 1 [Pre-alpha, free demo](http://store.steampowered.com/app/482400/)! Unreal engine, looks ok!
>>3497986
someone is going to say yes...
they're wrong.
in truth, there are few cyberpunk games out there. only one that comes to mind is snatcher. deus ex and system shock are more scifi than cyberpunk.
>>3498002
how is Snatcher cyberpunk but Flashback is not?
>>3498002
flashback is absolutely cyberpunk. system shock 1 is absolutely cyberpunk. system shock 2 less so. you are a faggot
none of you nigger faggots even mention THE cyberpunk game. go to bed
>>3494780
the snes and genesis games were absolute garbage. they were considered shovelware when they came out for good reason. the new games aren't perfect but they're at least playable and have good atmosphere.
>>3498025
Fail
Both games were alright. They both are open world adventures which was pretty remarkable at the time. I am bias towards the sega genesis version because I owned it as a kid.
Not shovelware, you are a retard and should leave /vr.

You are retarded.
Were the 90s the peak of cyberpunk and hacker culture? Back when internet was only used by people who knew computers, and not every household had a computer. Now everybody carries a small computer in their pockets with direct connection to the world meme database.
>>3501283
More or less, yes.
