PC games released in 2000 have it the worst on this board. So close yet so far. RIP Diablo II, The Sims, Deus Ex, etc.

yeah, you have to be very careful about games from the 2000s. in fact, i wouldn't be opposed to banning discussion of anything later than 1999 until 2020.

I kinda think there should be an exception and all games released in 2000 should be permitted.

The rest of 6th gen should be allowed. We're at a point where /v/ is too young to have experienced most of 6th gen. Also, OG Xbox is pretty much Dreamcast 2 with all the Sega exclusives it got. 2004 (sans the DS) is a good cutoff point.

What is the current retro status of counter-strike? The mod came out in 1999 and each update is a mere update rather than it's own separate game. Yet, a lot of anons treat counter-strike as non retro.

I'd say 2003 for hardware (Means DS and 360 still wont be allowed), and 2005 for software releases (provided they are on pre-2003 hardware).
