The platforming is kind of boring. I prefer Spyro or Mario's acrobatics.

Pretty much. But there's more varied level design, better control of the character (basically the movement style of Mario in SMW vs SMB1 style Crash 1), better music imo (debatable), slide and slam which can be exploited to go super fast and a way way better save system. That's pretty much it.

Quite possible the best of the original trilogy and the last great Crash platformer.

1 is a better platformer, 2 is better as an action game. 3 is retarded.

I dislike the lack of difficulty - It's the easiest of PSX trio, by a large margin in terms of 100%'ing it.

Also no Tawna because feminism, but that applies to 3 as well.

We're splitting hairs, really. All of the first 3 crash games are good, each one shines in its own way.

It's a shame we never got a true Crash 4. It would be nice to have seen the ideas Crash 3 brought with it actually fleshed out an implemented properly.
