Why not?

We had one, and it must have JUST died because it was up as of yesterday, anyway.

Good score on the Gameboy Light, always wanted one.

It's pretty neat, but it makes me kind of salty that its screen is larger than my GBC's.

I found a copy of Final Fantasy Legend II. It was published by Sunsoft, unfortunately.

the bivert DMG masterrace will fix that problem for you

pic related. yeah, not technically /vr/.... but this thing is actually kind of nice and deserves some love. screen is crystal clear (albeit small), proper d-pad and buttons. i got it for tetris, and it's a great version.
>>

What's bad about it being published by Sunsoft?

Nothing of the trilogy Legend 2 is considered the best. But that's for SaGa threads to go over.

Got this one from a manager where I work, real bro that one. Maybe karma paying be back for swearing off my beaten wife relationship with the local retro shop.

You overpay at every shop though. Most will make deals since they all know they are asking stupid prices on shit.

I haven't seen anyone successfully haggle with them, anything 5th gen or older is stupidly priced. In my experience I have seen shops that had decent prices. One I especially liked sold games at reasonable prices without having to haggle. But they were also a full blown vintage shop that also sold retro.

My only recent purchase was a PS Vita, gonna find out if it's worth owning now that I can try out all the games on it something tells me the answer is still no...

I think piracy and emulation is a thing, but you need to be on 3.60.
>>
>>3470929
What do they want for it? Whenever I see it at my local stores they want $40-$50 which is just insane.
>>
>>3470998

>>

Literally going for like 26 dollars on pricecharting rn, no bidding needed.
+
Goes for around 28 buy now on ebay quite a lot.

Thank you for your hatred :~)
>>
>>3470928
What are the second and third GG games you have there? And how's the screen? Still works or no?
>>
>>3471057
>no bidding needed.

Why don't you try clicking on it you can clearly see that it was bid on. The only BIN carts are $30-$45 right now so $40 at a store seems fair.
>>
>>3470309
Nice purchase. What year? Recent, or older?
>>
>>3471061
Not him, but it looks like Ax Battler and World Series Baseball.
>>
>>3471063
it's literally going for 28 on price charting.

You're either trying to prove your right when you simply aren't, baiting me, or something else.

You're overpaying, all I am saying. No need to be such a rude cunt about someone trying to help you save a couple dollars.
>>
>>3471069
Price charting goes by recent winning auctions. Furthermore, I found it inaccurate in some instances. Not that anon btw
>>
>>3471070

You don't understand what I am saying. You can sell your shit on price charting, theres one going for 28 right now.

Plus, if you ebay "megaman x snes" and look at what people sold already under buy now you see it goes for 19-25 quite a bit, hell I see one right now that sold for 15+3 dollar shipping.

Idk why I am even trying to help anyone anymore.

It depends on the game, generally though they are stabilizing.

Earthbounds dropped quite a bit since last year while chrono is slowly going up still.

Ax Battler and World Series Baseball. Ax Battler seems cool. It's like Zelda 2 except set in the Golden Axe universe. Baseball is a typical baseball game.

The screens alright. It's hard to recall what they were like when they were new. Haven't had one since 2000. I can still sit and enjoy it at a reasonable angle.

Some lines flicker on start up, so a capacitor is probably going to go soon. And if the cartridge isn't in right it'll reset itself a lot. If it's in well enough it's fine for as long as I've been playing it.
>>
>>3470928
You aren't going to be playing Game Gear very long with so few batteries.

Yeah, your caps sound really bad. Luckily the one I got at a local game store a year ago still had an above average screen for a GG. You probably don't want to spend the money on it anytime soon, or at all maybe, but there's a guy on eBay from the UK who refurbs GGs to a like new condition.
>>
>>3471584
>>3471165
New caps will also extend the battery life a lot. Even more if you remove the fluorescent tube backlight and put in a modern LED backlight strip, which is like $10. You can totally replace the lcd screen with a modern one, but it'll cost over $100 and is quite difficult to install.

Got this lot yesterday and discovered some quirks. First that Forgotten Worlds will not play with a six button controller. Something about how Forgotten Worlds was made before the six button controller came out and that if you try and play the game it will start, load the first stage, then auto game over. Cont in next post
>>

>>3472084
The other quirk is with Silpheed. When I get up to the first boss it has an error message and offers you a continue, then you start from the beginning of the stage. I was a little panicky thinking that the cd unit might be crapping out but I looked into it and this and it is a know problem. It looks like the cd unit can't process the data quickly enough and that is why it will glitch.
>>
>>3472084
aladdin and alien storm had the same problem
>>
>GameBoyLight
>~25 bucks

wut, I thought they were much more expensive
>>
>>3472105
Huh, figures that it would crop up with some games. I guess future tech sometimes doesn't mesh well with the past tech. A little miffed that I found out after the fact since I was going to get Forgotten Worlds with manual and box at the same time I got the Genesis and Sega CD 2. Well the store owner was showing that the console indeed worked he was doing so using the six button controller in my first pic.
>>
>>3469349
Not him, but not the first run, but the second edition, also it has Sunsoft's watermark which imho looks pretty bad (I also have that one).
>>
I want to get a GBA SP to play my GB games, what kind of prices are considered good? I live in the EU.
>>
>>3472084
Just hold down the mode shoulder button on the controller when you power on.

This turns it into a standard 3 button pad.
>>
>>3472117
It was already pointed out that the computer where it was sold didnt have the gb light in their system, so it was priced as a normal Gameboy

Curious to see what all is on it piracy recently became possible, like in the last week or less recent, but I'm sure emulators will be nice to see. Or at the very least it ought to play a few PS1 games better than my PSP did.

Yeah, I have a friend who uses Noppin extensively to buy Touhou stuff, and I just used it to buy a Super Famicom and the two SeTa shogi carts with the ST-011/ST-018 in them. Stuff can be a lot cheaper over there but keep in mind you're paying twice for shipping (once to Noppin's warehouse and once to the US) and also paying fees twice.
