The GB port of Avenging Spirit is pretty good, you should definitely give it a try.

Got an Everdrive GB. Been playing a ton of new shit.
Not hidden gems but new to me:
Parodius Da! is super fun if you like shoot'em ups.

Donkey Kong 94. Starts as classic DK but then turns in to a dope puzzle game. Plays so great on SGB.

Magical Chase is a super fun shmup.

Trip World is an easy peasy platformer with lots of charm.

Also if you haven't given mario land 2 a chance in a while that game is dope as fuck. seriously.

No one knows about this game except me. Literally can't find anyone. It's a fucking masterpiece for it's time. You pretty much pick a monster and you can level it up and train it like give it moves and shit.

Dragon Warrior Monsters is a pretty good game, overshadowed by Pokeman but it's actually quite better. If you like the DW design and pokemon style gameplay, you're in for a ride.

Dragon Quest Monsters. Like pokemon for Dragon Quest. They are a lesser known side series in the west. They dont even get localized anymore.

Samurai Kid is a puzzle platformer, Japan only title from Koei. It's one of my favorite GBC titles.

Super Bikkuriman
Primitive Princess
Bonk (the gb games of this series are really nice)
Duck Tales


All those are GB games. For GBC I think Merlin and Samurai Kid are pretty interesting.

X is a pretty fun game, provided you can read japanese or have played it's english sequel.
