What's weird about Metal Black is that the cutscene that plays when you gameover is much more positive than the actual ending. I can't find a video of it, but what happens in the game over cutscene is that your comrades launch off into space to avenge your death by destroying the alien menace. It seems like more of a proper ending then the game's actual ending, which shows the earth getting split in half.
