Trophy Hunter is still the best hunting game ever made.

I used to play the shit out of deer hunter. There was even a knock off one called deer avenger I believe where the roles were reversed.

There was a hunting game a couple of years ago that I felt looked pretty comfy to play, I think it was Cabela's brand or something even, but it wasn't one of those retarded Colladoodie style safari genocide games.

The standard rifle was a .270 Winchester bolt-action rifle, and when you took a shot, the game entered bullet-time and it showed you the trajectory of the bullet going through the air and into the animal (a bit like Sniper Elite), the game would penalize you for messy or wounding shots, and would praise you for a good and clean shot (like piercing both lungs and the heart with one bullet), if you hit bone with your bullet, it would change the trajectory of the bullet and reduce it's penetration, if you hit an animal in the forehead from the front, a bullet could deflect off, it was really detailed and nice looking.

Cabelas did have awesome hunting games before that shitty qte dangerous hunts shit. Big game hunter 2004 was really great I always loved fucking around in those games and you could shoot the forest Rangers for a game over if I remember correctly

this thread has reminded of a game which I never actually knew the name of.

It was one of those "educational" games where you choose a dinosaur and then moved on a grid based map towards things you could eat while avoiding other dinosaurs that would kill you. Does anyone know the name of it?

How about Carnivores? It was one where you hunted dinisaurs. I liked it as a kid, but it's kind of easy as an adult

It's Cabela's Big Game Hunter Pro Hunts from 2014.
It was /v/ FoTM that summer. And that fucking starter rifle... Felt like all animals was wearing balistic plates under the skin.

I think there was some shotguns and a .30-06 rifle too, like a Saiga variant or something.

Thanks though, I was racking my head over what that was, I didn't have the PC to run it at the time and it looked kind of nice.

Redneck Rampage Deer Hunting, under Build.

I enjoyed it for what it was. It ha a fonctional sniper scope which is probably the best thing about the game.
I honestly can't think of an FPS before that with a sniper scope.
