You idiots memed filters hard enough for someone to combine a real analog b&w TV, a real camera, and a single board computer connected to the internet.

No thank you, I am good.
>>
I have no fucking clue what's going on in this video
>>
It's pretty cool as a project, but it doesn't make any sense because the only benefit of a CRT is the low input lag. All the image quality pixel how is meant to look is bullshit put out by poorfags or hipsters, and can be obtained with an LCD by just sitting at a distance from the screen
>>
>>3458449
From what I understood dude just connected camera to a monitor, put camera inside the box looking at actual crt screen and got sct filter.

Input lag must be like phone call from another galaxy.
As far as I know there are boxes available to buy that do just that, you just plug your PC to a box size of a match box and then to PC and you get yourself crt pattern.
You can even download and use your own filters in some popular formats.

Pretty cool thing considering it provides much needed smoothing to old 2D games many of which were made with properties of a CRT monitor in mind.
Can find link, maybe someone sauce me but I read an article from retro gamedev who spoke how sprites were designed and how properties of CRT monitor affected the process.
Properties like aperture grill, blur, saturation and ghosting.

Images are too dark. Something that should be improved.

Summary: It's beyond retarded
>>
>>3460424
Technically its for shit and gigglez.
Anyway, is there a way to connect my PC to a CRT TV?
I mean not via some $200 box and legendary and never working adapters but via some tv tunner or something?
>>
>>3458105
Looks about as shitty as a real CRT. Good on him I suppose?
>>

Enjoy your blur and glare.
>>
>>3463348
>Enjoy your blur
Especially with 2D games
>glare
>Not having your old underpants over your window to block all light.

Beside, SDTV make any 2D game look actually fucking good and go well with anything retro and up to 6th gen.
I am not even mentioning lack of input lag which is really big thing with rhythm games and anything generally fast paced, superior blacks are a thing too.
>>
>>3462891
Were you born after they stopped putting AV out on video cards?

Go get some GF4MX and SHARE THE ORIGINAL PAIN.
>>
>>3463696
good luck getting 240p out of any old video card
>>
>>3463708
You've meant to say “new video card”, haven't you?
>>
>>3463717
Sure, point still stands, it's not like you can just buy one and expect it to work. Of course every retard who says "just hook up your pc lol" doesn't know shit.
>>
>>3463749
>just hook up my PC lol
Yeah, something I keep hearing and the moment I ask "how?" anons disappear mysteriously.
>>
>>3465181
Google crt_emudriver and be prepared to do some reading. In short, you want that driver running on a Radeon HD 5000, 6000 or 7000 series card, and then the right cables to get the signal to your RGB-capable CRT. Don't presume any part of the process is easy until you know it back to front, but be assured the result is worth the effort.

>The monitor displays an image, and then the image is photographed by the camera Raspberry Pi. Thereafter, the images are stuck together and sent to the server.

>How we can obtain the color images on the black-and-white monitor?
>Real simple. The picture is divided into three channels: red, green and blue.
>Thereafter, each frame is displayed on the monitor separately and then photographed.

>the process ... copying .. dividing ... photographing ... multiplexing ... return copying ... is about 30 seconds... the timeout period can take hours or even days. The maximum of 2880 images can be processed per day.

the real question is why those moron autists didn't simply use a colour TV to take one photo per second,

HOW AM I SUPOSED TO PLAY SOME TURN-BASED SNES GAMES AT 1FPS ON MY 50" LED TV USING A SCRIPT TO PASS IT THRU THEIR WEBSITE??!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
>>
>>3465539
when my lcd broke i had to use my crt. had to adjust it to be able to see enimies but then i couldnt read any text. or was that crysis 2? both are stupid games so it doesnt matter.
>>
>>3463708
I don't think that many old video cards with S-video out will do 240p on that. Usually it's really poor quality S-video too. It made me think S-video was worse than composite for a long while (Until i bought S-video cables for my consoles), but I live in SCART-land anyway.

Otoh you can get 240p RGB out of the VGA port pretty easily, but you have to make an active adapter to combine the H & V syncs into composite sync, so a TV or RGB monitor will understand it.
>>
>>3458463
FUCKING THIS!

Where the fuck did people get the notion that the reason people played on a CRT was because of the way it looked? The colors were nice because of the same reason why there was no input delay and that is because it was light being shot onto a piece of glass. Nothing is faster than light.

>back then, anybody that played video games was good at video games because the game reacted as soon as they did
>shitty mechanics were easier to put up with
>pro street fighter, quake and counter-strike players swear by CRTs; these games are the epitome of competitive gaming that two of them aired on broadcast television
>>
>>3462891
You can get an HDCRT. A 34 inch one only weighs 190 pounds.

Idealized shaders are better than "accurate" representations of budget consumer televisions anyways.
>>
>played on one of this atrocities for my entire childhood
>switch to a shitty 21" LCD early on and never look back
feels good not having nostalgia for these shitty CRT filters
>>
>>3468178
But that's not a direct-view CRT anon.

Don't let ignorance cloud your judgement.
>>
>>3468224
That's what I'm saying bruh, I never had a CRT and had to subject myself to that shit therefore I have no nostalgia for all this shit

You had to subject yourself to horrific early LCDs too. Does that mean you hate all flat panels now?

You're not making any sense blud

Not him but does it come with handlebars?
I can squat that but I'm not sure I can actually hug it firm enough.

cheapest is a hd 5450 flashed with atom-15, crt_emudriver, vga to YPbPr component converter to a component capable consumer set

If you have a rgb pro monitor you can use a breakout straight from the vga port and just tee the h+V sync together.

That's a really kickass setup, what's the lag for VGA to YPbPr Component?
Is there a way to get an S-Video graphic card to output 240p?
