anyway, what makes this guy special
>>3455805
YU-NO is in english.
>>3455805
Of the games listed in the OP all but Xenon have been translated into English. As for the second question, Kanno was one of the most influential writers in the Japanese VN/adventure game industry Some of his games have left such a big mark that they've even been getting remakes as of late, such as Eve Burst Error R and the soon to be released YU-NO remake for PS4/Vita.
>>3455809
Though only the first two Eve Burst Error games were translated, there's more of them after that.
>>3455815
Hopefully either R or A, or both will get picked up by Manga Gamer, who actually managed to get the original translation of the first PC port on their store.
Did he work on anything other than adventures?

>Is there any chance at all in the world that I'd like YU-NO
The odds are roughly that of the sun rising tomorrow
I don't give a single solitary fuck about dating sims or porn gamesunless it's something weird/funny/inventive like one of those Robert Yang games, but I like visual novels, especially the detective/investigatory ones. One of my favorite games ever is Famicom Detective Club Part 2. And I even love Twine games and such. Is there any chance at all in the world that I'd like YU-NO or should try it out?
Ya'll keep going into other threads saying this is the greatest game ever made, but I just wanna know if it's just getting your rocks off or is there an actual story and video game in there?
Like I wanna be open and try things out, I've been fooled before with people presenting Nocturnal Illusions to me like it was high art. So, yeah, I'm wary when people keep hyping up this kind of stuff.
>>3456802
Yu-no is not a detective or investigation story.
The core aspect is moving on a multi-dimensional map. You don't pick up clues, you pick up items that can be used at a completely different place and time to slowly unravel the mystery.
There's a lot of story and quite a bit of gameplay and very little porn.
Be aware that there's quite a bit of prologue before the actual game starts.
>>3456802
It's a plot with porn game, not the other way around, so chances are you're gonna like it. It's also got a very unique flowchart system that I don't think has been done since.

i still need to play the girls side in desire, but i heard its basically just her getting raped all the time
>>3457550
You still have two more protags after Makoto but their routes are even shorter than hers.
Also, this is spoilers for Desire itself butIs Kyle Makoto's son? In the cutscene where Al goes to rescue Tina from the time loop she's stuck in we see Martina revert to Tina and Kyle revert to a little boy while Makoto stays the same.
>>3457610
Shit, there's more? I guess I better actually play it then.
>>3457550
>but i heard its basically just her getting raped all the time
It does and it really pisses me off - I was expecting answers or at least an interesting alternative viewpoint to the story but instead it's basically a bizarre NTR doujin plot
But like this guy says >>3457610
There's more stuff unlocked after you finish her route, so you gotta eat your veggies before dessert.
I only played the Saturn version of Desire where she gets hypnotized instead of sex-trained. Also it doesn't have that extra/modified ending they added in the Windows version.
I guess I should check out the Windows version one of these days.
>>3457825
I just played whatever the browser version is on that one site.
>>3457825
So how does it end? Andwhat does Kyle have her do?
>>3457835
That's the Windows version
>>3457856
Thanks
>>3457852
I don't remember very well, but I think it endedwith a repeating endless loop.
>>3457825
>hypnotized instead of sex-trained
Oh wow.
>>3457852
>So how does it end?
It's been a really long time since I played it so I can't remember the details but...Tina is a younger version of Martina and she's stuck in a time loop. In the original version, it ends with Tina waking up on the beach where she meets Albert, implying the time loop continues forever.
In the Windows version, they get her out of the time loop... somehow. What's funny is that Makoto is sort of just there in it in a completely superfluous manner.
>>3457897Considering her end has her study the Reactor to reverse engineer it I wouldn't say her appearance was that superfluous, and I also doubt Al would have been to get to the dimension Tina ended up in without Makoto's help.
>>3457897
>Martina
I knew something was up with her, but I played Albert over a year ago, so I can't even remember what I thought.I probably thought Tina was her daughter or something.
Is Windows the only English version?
Why is the HG101 article for Yu-No down? It was a quality article and was a great way to introduce people to the game.
>>3459065
I contacted HG101 throughtumblrand they told me it was ad related
>>3459146
Sponsors attack and censor once again. Which ad so that I can boycott them and accuse them of possessing CP.
>>3459175
Dunno, but to be more precise, he told me that the ad service was flagging the article as inappropriate even after they had disabled ads on it.
>>3458043
Speaking ofTina and Martina. How the hell did Tina come to be? How did she get stuck in the time loop?
AAAARUUUUUU
>>3460010
>article is one of the main sources to inform westerners about YU-NO
>is also a tribute to the dead creators
>NAW NAW NO LEWD LEWD PLZ REMOVE WE NEED MONEY FROM OUR CLICKBAIT PLZ PLZ!!
Fuck this society.
>>3460485
You can still read the article here https://web.archive.org/web/20160428233558/http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/yuno/yuno.htm at least
Kind of unrelated to the thread but what's the best sound emulator for Umemoto's games? Don't think I've one that doesn't sound off in some way yet.
How is Eve Zero for Dreamcast?
Going to order few games soon and since the shipping costs are expensive might as well buy few more.
>>3462486
I never played it personally but I have the impression that the people in Japan really wished that EVE stopped after the first game and didn't receive any sequels.
