I wish I could live in Dream Forest. It's so peaceful and beautiful.

Oh shit son. I remember exploring that area for the first time thinking "man, it would be so cool to explore this place if it were real".
Space Quest had a lot of areas like that. Such a classic.
Clock Town always felt so comfy, minus the moon crashing of course
I used to fantasize about living here all the time as a kid

I think I agree. I think it was just the first video game world I experienced that truly felt alive. Like it would still move and function even if I (the hero) wasn't there. Everyone in the land had distinct personalities and jobs to do. Even in modern, open world, AAA titles you don't always get that.

For some reason the La Guardia heliport in Deus Ex feels really comfy. There's always that 'what if' thinking about the game that could have been without that cut content, going to more cool NSF places.

>>3458248
Why did you post pic from that awful remake?
>>3458314
you're right, this is /vr/, but i don't think it was that awful. The drawings were very well done, and you could see what developers thought of that specific area by pressing a button... But i can understand that someone nostalgic wants to leave the things as they were, i'm like that too.
>>3458321
>i can understand that someone nostalgic wants to leave the things as they were
Fuck off, shithead, seriously. It's impossible to say some remake graphics or changes are not an improvement without you assholes crawling out of the woods yelling "nostalgia". No, fuckface. Some of us have enough taste to understand when something is better, and that better is not always indicated by high resolution or 3D graphics. Get that through your fucking skull.
>>3458324
srsly, why there must be flame every single fucking time? objectively speaking: no. remakes are not better, they want only to ride the wave of success that that game had. not only the graphic, they change the characters, the environments, and sometimes even the plot. it's an insult to the childhood of a person, not only nostalgicfagness. i myself know that sometimes the remake are well done (that monkey island for example) but everytime i heard that word, "remake", i have a shiver thinking what they could do. so, stop being a 12 years old retarded and speak civilly, you're not on /b/.
>>3458327
>it's an insult to the childhood of a person
again, it does not matter if it was their childhood. The person saying the original looks better can be 18 or younger, ffs, and it would not make one iota of a difference. Keep prior "experience" out of the damn picture, you too.
>>3458321
>drawings were well done
No. They were fucking horrible. The originals were very well done, but they outsourced the drawing to Korea lowest bidder and it was shit.
>>3457757

i'll admit to being really nerdy here. since i played CT as a kid, and got into literature/comic books/writing, i've always wanted to write a direct sequel to CT, although my writing style and taste is very western, so the shit would play out more like Die Hard than a JRPG.
but, if i DID get the official blessing, or if i had the resources to write a direct sequel to CT, it would most certainly involve you going to the good future.

I would gladly grab me some tools and go to town on this baby after buying it for what I'm assuming would be lunch money because nobody would want it. Get some high beams going on, maybe a proper terrace and a patio, set up a bedroom in the attic, make a proper yard, the works. I'd probably spend a small fortune getting it up to snuff, but to me there's nothing more satisfying than some good old woodwork and the joy that seeing and old building revived brings. I'd get me some animals and plant some greens and I'd be happy as a clam. Beautiful view, golden beaches only five minutes away, fresh air and all the quiet in the world.
Boy, I really need to get out of the city...

Eh, I appreciate both. I'm glad ya posted it. By liking a remake you aren't saying its better.
>>3473847
>If they had remade in the style of Curse it would've been glorious
No, not even then. Legend and Revenge are a consistent and complete story. Curse was already shit as a Monkey Island game. Maybe good as a game, I don't know, but shitting on the original games like that, didn't sit well with me.
Legend and Revenge use a semi-realistic style. All this cartoon junk does not work on these games. Half of the fun of the games was that they looked "serious" at a glance, but were hilarious when playing them. The style of Curse and the remake just scream "I look funny, because I'm funny, get it?! Get it?!?! You don't seem intelligent, so I will hammer this point home, choking any style and subtlety the original might have had! Laugh, dammit! Laugh!!"
