Guys, please help me, I'm stuck! I'm doing something wrong. I can't make a big enough jump to jump over the ledge. What is the trick? This is literally 30 seconds into the game. I am desperate.

never played this game but you can try all the different jump styles of old games like.
holding the jump button down
running and jumping
holding up while jumping
holding down while jumping
pushing two buttons at the same time

Guys I finally found the trick...you have to destroy the egg sacks of the aliens after killing them to get upgrades!!
