Never forget
>>
>>3446407

Never got a picture, but I have a story. In my home town there was this shitty old hotel. It had turned into more of a crack den than anything over time. Eventually it was foreclosed/condemned, locked and boarded then fenced up. For a while is had a "for sale" sign, but being in literally the worst part of town it never sold.

Then one day, the wrecking crews showed up. 2 excavators and a bulldozer went to town and tore this thing to shreds. Turns out the bar inside had a couple machine. I was two upright cabs turned to splinters (2 player generic uprights) an old Pinball machine (I think because I saw only bits of the twisted up frame) and twin linked San Francisco RTR cabs. The cabs where gone, only the seats and base remained.

Second story:

My local Grey Hound bus depot has a upright fighter jet game, some sort of upright brawler and a stand Pole Position. They also have a some sort of cocktail cabinet. Unfortunately all these machines have a wide variety of damage, from lighter/cigarette burns, names/dates/curses carved into the sides and even the plastic screens. All of them are in a deplorable state because bus depot. If I can ever get to the stage of buying one I will. Most likely I will try to get pole position.

The pole position, other than a couple swastikas carved into the cabinet, works perfectly fine. Very dim though. Pretty sure the bus depot lets it run 24/7 and the machine needs to be fixed up. If I could find "the owner" of the machine, I would definitely try to buy it. But I would most likely part it out.

Some arcade machines we get in are NOT good enough to sell to the public and back with our 5 year service plan. We have donated some 300 machines to non-profit organizations over the years, but also "parted" out hundreds of games also--because they were NOT good enough to retail. Think of us simply Parting Out some games here! This footage filmed from two different angles in High Definition, was to be used in a new infomercial we have not yet finished. This will eventually get trimmed down to 90 seconds. Back in 2001, we original tossed a Black Knight and a Ms Pacman from the same roof that were not repairable.
>>
>>3448250
Oh, fuck you. There is no suck thing as "not repairable".

>this shit again
There's a difference between a retro game enthusiast and a hipster. The former is a nerd who never gave up on his childhood games and keeps playing them because he knows that old vidya is superior to all that bland, soulless modern garbage.

The latter jumped on the retro trend and just wants to look cool. He doesn't give a shit about old games and gets most of his '''''knowledge''''' from social medias and crappy youtube channels like DidYouKnowGaming or JonTron. Once the trend is dead, he'll just throw his retro vidya and his flannel shirts to the garbage bin and jump whatever is the newest trend.

Now please shut the fuck up.

If you actually bothered to read into the matter, they said they try giving stuff away often. Sometimes people don't want something they have to put a ton of work into.

Why didn't you drive across the country to get it, anon? They're throwing stuff away; it's all your fault. Video game history is being destroyed because you won't take away broken equipment!
