Whatever happened to the old PC-98 threads? Not enough PC-98-ers to sustain it?

The general consensus seems to be 5 > 4 > 2, with 3 and 1 being love it or hate it (the former is a Twinkle Star Sprites clone, while the latter is an Arkanoid clone).

I'm one of those few people that loves HRtP. Despite its obvious basis being Arkanoid, it's still a very unique game and the atmosphere it has is top notch for such a crudely made action puzzler. Like wow, zun could have been a pretty good director had he bothered to move beyond simple hobbyship.

Boy did I underestimate these games. I don't know which is which but the shooter ones are a lot harder than I bargained for. I'm getting raped by cute little anime girls ;.;

It was largely me bumping with all the WebMs and GIFs I was making of J-PC games several months back. Right now I'm working on my backlog of non-Japanese PC games; I'm also working on my Japanese so I can support the community better. Things might not pick up for a year or so, too, because I'm still in school.

Also, that guy who keeps posting J-PC stuff in the 70s/80s PC general never became a regular in the /jpc/ threads, even though he'd get a guaranteed response for most everything (unlike now).

That's because I like posting stuff about the Amiga, Amstrad CPC and other non-Japanese architectures too. Also I've never felt like posting in the /jpc/ threads when the 70s to 90s Computer Game general already included Japanese computers.
As for the situation of the thread now, I think (and hope) it's only temporary -- I've never seen such bland, repetitive discussions, low level shitposters and blatant newfaggotry (sometimes making legitimately interested posters go away by being overly rude for no reason) in this thread before may of this year, but there has alway been some change in summer before it comes back to normal in september/october in these threads, so I don't think it'll stay like this from now on.

Anyway, I don't wanna derail this thread about off-topic stuff, so to answer the question, I don't really have a favorite PC-98 2hu game, but I mostly play to Lotus Land Story and Story of Eastern Wonderland, but I really suck at them, I like shooters but I'm not that good.
