What was the best retro handheld Castlevania game?
>>3434190Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
>>3434269
May be bait but seriously, most of the CV games didn't actually get good on handheld until the GBA trio.
Kid Dracula was a damn good attempt though.
>>3434190
I was not aware of Legends or Kids Dracula.
Belmont's Revenge is pretty rad though, I really like that one
I grew up with The Adventure. Gets unfairly shit on, but it's a decent game, especially for it's time.
>>3434275
Belmont's Revenge is the only one I've played and damn does it have a good soundtrack, like most CVs
>>3434286
If you patch it to make it run faster, it's actually one of the more enjoyable Castlevania games out there.
>>3434301
I was not aware that there was even a rom hacking scene on the game boy. I've never heard of a single gb hack until now. Anything good besides making a shitty castlevania game slightly more tolerable?
Clearly this one.
>>3434314
Mate...
>any of these games
>even holding a candle to CV3
>>3434369
>CV3
>not overrated af
>>3434190
Belmont's Revenge and it isn't even close.
Belmont's Revenge is a fantastic game all around.
>>3434367
australia-kun was saying that game is not a castlevania clone.
>>3434492
I'd say Castlevania is based off Hammer Dracula while MoD is based off Bram Stoker Dracula.
>>3434492
Iif australia-kun said that, then it is a castlevania clone.
I liked Legends and Sonia
eat a dick Iga, leon's a tubo fag
>>3434190
From what I enjoyed:
Revenge > Legends > Adventure > Kid
>>3434513
I was indifferent to Leon until the end of that game. He really is a whiny faggot.
>>3434571
The ending to LoI was really weird. Why was Death the final boss? Why did Death ally himself with Mathias?
I love Legends to death.
>>3434269
>one opportunity to mention a GBA game
>choose the worst on the system
Please kill yourself
>>3434269
I don't understand why Harmony fans exist.
>>3434794
RIP Castlevania
1986 - 2001
>>3434269
Dat neon
>>3434794
Aria of Sorrow > Circle of the Moon
I agree with you on Harmony, though.
>>3434578
Sonia is to this day the only FIRST Belmont that didn't fuck things up forever.
and while I shit on Leon but HOL-Y FUCK is Gabrial a shit head
What do you guys think of the unknown song from Symphony of the Night?
Belmont's Revenge is the only one I can really call 'good'. Adventure is a guilty pleasure though.
>>3435532
What was wrong with Legends?
Not handheld, but did anyone else really love this game?
>>3435626
It's a bit dull but mechanically solid
>>3436257
Stop posting that shit, not even Amigafags like it.
>>3436279
>not even Amigafags like it.
>>3436285

Go and try asking about Amigavania on the current Amiga thread, and see their reaction.
>>3436301
Nah, I'll just wait for an Amiga superuser to see this thread and post their opinion.
>>3434794
>no difficulty vs artificial difficulty
>>3436308
Alright, meanwhile I probved you wrong. Keep being delusional, australia-shit.
>>3436318
Fuck you.
>>3434190
Kid Dracula > Belmont's Revenge >>> Legends >>> Adventure
>>3436332
Are you a Megaman fan perchance?
>>3436319
Fuck you=You beat me.
Not the same anon but holy fuck that it if I didn't have anything good to say I wouldn't say anything at all and there isn't any creative bone in my body?
>can't get out of this spot
What a well designed videogame; worthy of the Australia-kun seal of quality.
>>3434269
it's actually true what he says. it's fucking LOADED with content and dank secrets up to the brim. it has two whole castles to explore and the soundtrack is pretty amazing.
loved playing and finishing it.
Aria of Sorrow is actually far shorter. mostly because Chaos Realm is not a whole castle. still seems more refined as a game.
>>3434190
All of the GB Castlemania games were slow as fuck to prevent ghosting on the Gameboy's terrible screen.
these hacks make them playable though
>adventure

>belmont's revenge

>legends

>>3438570
Legends would go pretty fast when you get the invincibility power-up, though...
>>3438582
The creator of the legends hack acknowledges this.
>In v1.0, Sonia moved as quickly as when Burning Mode was activated. Due to complaints, I slowed her down a little (By using a different method to hack her speed), so Burning Mode still provides a speed bonus along with its other benefits.
>>3436279
>implying we have any real amigafags on this board
>>3438651
Well, that would explain why Belmonts are so much more powerful than the average human.
>>3439091
Or why Alucard keep fucking his dad life like an angsty teenager, after 500 years.
