holy fucking shit you guys
do we have any programmers on board?
that's pretty rad, I'll definitely take a look at it.
>>3421582
This is great news
>>3421582
>do we have any programmers on board?
/vr/ is probably one of the boards with the most knowledgeable people in terms of programming etc because of the people doing ROM hacks.
>>3423748
Yeah no. /g/ would win that
>>3423748
>most knowledgeable people in terms of programming
Uh, /g/ is filled with professional programmers.
>>3423769
Let me point you in the direction of programming threads.
>>3421582
This only can mean lots of mods in the near future.
Night Dive Studios is based

now you guys are just memeing at this point

Programmer masterrace reporting in. Funny coincidence: Been looking at the leaked source code for Thief 2 recently (also contains System Shock 2 code and Deep Cover code).
Tweet is legit btw: https://mobile.twitter.com/pripyatbeast/status/763805379117494272?p=v
does being a CS student count?
>>3423762
Yea, especially their daily fizzbuzz threads.
Why isn't this announced by Warren Spector, but instead by some guy who was a child back when SS1 was released?
>>3423963
Possibly because that guy is the CEO of Night Dive Studios and because they have the rights to the SS source code:
>the company is best known for obtaining rights to classic video games that are no longer available, updating them for compatibility with modern platforms, and re-releasing them into digital distribution.
>>3423963
Are you retarded?
>>3423967
i used to hate night dive but if we can get the SS1 source code out of them i'll change my mind
the dark engine source would be even better too
>>3423983
>the dark engine source would be even better too
Google for "thief_2_service_release.7z"
>>3423998
big problem is you can't really release anything using it because no one's licensed to use it
I'd just like to know what the fuck they are doing with Powerslave, if anything.
>>3424018
They're still exhuming it if you catch my drift.
>>3423948
is your CS program more than mathematics with a fancy name?
if so, yes
>>3423769
/g/ is a popular board. It gets its share of shitposters for this reason, but a lot of knowledgeable users reside on it just as well.
>>3423873
>Thief 2
where?
>>3423772
Ask /g/ what CI means and how do they apply to their pet project, and you will find out how many professional programmers they have.
They rarely go beyond beating keyboards and saying Java is evil.
>>3423873
do you think is doable to add real time shadows to system shock 2?
>>3424043
Look at him, he's doing it for free!
>>3425724
It seems that Newdark already supports them: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145511
Wasn't that supposed to be a $2M stretch goal for their kickstarter?
Fuck all the idiots who tried to defend and rationalize locking the source code behind a stretch goal in a kickstarter campaign for the remake.
>>3425807
No. There was no $2M stretch goal.
>>3425824
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1598858095/system-shock/posts/1639514
There are several acknowledgments and complaints of the source code release being a $2M goal in the comments section but it's nowhere to be found in the update post. I'm guessing the folks over at Night Dive Studios mentioned it during the twitch stream. Why would they not show it in the post itself, who knows? However, the comments acknowledging the $2M+ stretch goals also use words such as "see" and "bottom of the list". I'm starting to feel like that the image with those stretch goals was there at some point and was only removed/edited afterwards.
Anyway, it's clear that it was understood as a fact at some point and don't tell me that that was never the case.

>here come the pansexual side-shaved BLM radical feminist characters
And yet they still can't properly have an invert mouselook option
>>3425886
Just turn your mouse upside-down.
>>3425883
So what? You mean to say that remakes made in 2016 must be drenched in sjw garbage?
everybody abandon thread /v/ is here
>>3425897
There is no other reason or budget source for those logs
>>3425824
>>3425859
Allow me to help.
>>3426157
So they did edit the image after the fact. What a bunch of pussies.
>>3425897
dude it's 2016, it's like you don't even know what year it is
>>3427663
The later stretch goals were initially hidden behind heavy pixellation, then revealed in a KS update a couple of days before the deadline. Apparently they never updated their campaign page with the new image.
