Anyone else have problems emulating this with Fusion? I have the BIOS from the wiki, and it's been un-EMC'ed. I get to the SEGA start screen and after sonic throws the sparkles it freezes. what do besides kms?

Lemme guess, you have 1 bin file? You should have 4, and your .cue should look like this:

yes how did you know pls help me get to anime land sire

Because you had to "un-EMC" something. That's a hangover from when 700MBs was considered gigantic, really OLD rips.
One thing to try in Fusion is to turn on Perfect Sync in the options. I'm told it won't boot Popful past the sparkles without it.
If that doesn't work, then you need to find a better quality rip. Darkwater's should work, but if not then you need to go Redump.

Four bin files?
I have one bin file, and four wav files.

Do you have Perfect Sync on OP?

Omg perfect sync solved my problems, THANKS SO MUCH. I was using Darkwaters from ISOzone btw.

Yes, four bin files. My redump copy looks like pic related.

This. A few Sega CD games will freeze at start screen if you have Perfect Sync not enabled (it's disabled by default so you probaly have it this way since you sound like a newbie) and Popful Mail is one of them.

.bin is just an arbitrary file extension used by redump for CD image files
the first one is the data track and the other ones are audio tracks, which are basically wav files without the wav header.
i don't think Fusion can handle bin audio files so you might end up with missing audio, not that it really matters since Popful Mail barely uses CD audio in-game, those 3 tracks are just some dialogue sequences I think
Those are basically the original single bin file divided into 4, one for each tracks, you could get the original bin file by concatening them together and make another cue file.
