Wasn't Nintendo really strict on death, religion, and violence in games back in the 80s and 90s?
How the fuck was this game allowed?
Can't you delete your own thread within a certain amount of time?
Nintendo of America were probably lazy when they looked over that game. There was a Golgo 13 game that had a heavily implied sex scene released here too.

>did you accidentally post on the wrong board?
Looks like he obviously did, tripsherlock

Was Golgo 13 ever popular in America?

Wait until you see the gore in the ending.

My roomie introduced me to it. Never heard or saw it anywhere else.
It's extremely cartoony "gore" more in line with halloween imagery than visceral gore and violence.

I mean, as an adult it might not phase you, but look at that game over screen! I bet that game some kid nightmares for weeks!
>>3416178
yes, it was... quite a few friends had it back when it was new.

You where a pussy as a kid.

>this is what young hipsters really believe
You must have lived a very sheltered life.

They probably thought it looked cartoony enough in this screen. I mean it really looks more like ketchup in there.
It's cute in that context however how they replaced the select icon with that jack o lantern.

The game was changed heavily, it had a lot more darker material in it before. This didnt 'slip through the cracks', they revised a lot of the game.
>>3416112
Yeah, no. Mainly just religion and sex - and Golgo 13 even snuck that fuckin' in.
Maybe they weren't as conservative as rumors says.

Monster Party was heavily censored in final release though?

...i was desu
I don't get how Harvest Moon got away with religion being a major factor. I thought Nintendo didn't allow explicit religion until the N64.

Not with Ocarina of Time.

Nintendo stopped the censorship in 1994 when the ESRB was introduced. That's why Mortal Kombat II got released uncensored on the SNES with an M rating.Of course, now they're bringing censorship back, but that's a different story

They had a few fuck-ups.

I was an extremely sensitive kid but even I would not have been scarred by something like that.

Have you even played Wanpaku Graffiti? It's some kiddie tier horror plus it's all supposed to be a movie. Shadowgate is much more disturbing and did give me the fear on NES when I was a kid.
