Better than Gaiden? Not what I was expecting to hear. Thought the stages, ship selection and customization, bosses, music, and of course the art were far better in Gaiden, and may even consider it best in the series.

Anon, please. The first level of this game is literally Gradius 2, N64 metal surface edition. It also sounds shittier and isn't as fun to play.

The game is okay and serviceable, but it's always seemed like one of the weakest entries. It's the SNES Dracula X of series.
