Nope. These were made by Zenith/Nadir, circa 2000.

OP if you really like ansi art and retro textbased games, check out 8BitMUSH at http://www.ansiart.com/play/ .
Alternatively you can telnet or set up a client to connect to 8bit.fansi.org:4201.
Here is some ANSI in any case.
ASCII and ANSI too
Filth is one of my favourite recent ansi artists.
>tfw you will never meet anyone irl who has played this

While not strictly /retro/, the DOS version of Retro City Rampage has some nice ANSI art in its installer. Vid related:

Since most ansi art is big long scrollers, just save some and crop to a part you like.
Recently decorated a CHOICE menu within DOSBox with some ANSI visuals. Nothing fancy but makes for a less bland launcher than usual.

That's cool. Is that all within a bat file? Or did you do it using Qbasic or something?
>>3400765
looks cool, could you tell me more anon?

>>3405619
Yes, within the autoexec part of the dosbox conf. file. Using TYPE to display .ANS files (made with PabloDraw in this case).
>>3400765
i played that; it's not ansi
>>3406056
I didn't say it was
>>3405998
Could you put your dosbox.conf up on Pastebin or something? I've always wanted to make a menu like that for my games, but I don't really know a lot about batch scripting.

Here's the autoexec part: http://pastebin.com/7NLS5mgh
You can check the real thing by googling Grand Theft Auto: Max Pack
