ITT: Retro games only you have truly played
I don't expect you guys to have heard of this obscure gem,
I found out about it yeaaaars ago in 2010 when I was emulating, yeah I'm quite into retro.
Moon Crystal, never heard anyone mention it ever. Pretty cool game.

Is this made by the same people that did Constructor?
>>3370757
oh shit is that exile
>>3372406
I saw that on Seanbaby's show.
>>3372406
What's that?

Congo: The Movie: the Lost City of Zinj: The Video Game
>>3372406
Is this the game that had a rapid level, where you had quick time events to avoid the rocks? I remember not being able to beat that.
>>3372894I never got past the jungle levels
>>3372403
Yeah it is, they remade the games under the name Avernum with some changes.
The company is Spiderweb Software, and while I think they charge too much, their games are top notch.
I post this game in a lot of these threads and never get any responses, which is ridiculous because vr should eat this and alice in wonderland by the same company up big time, ridiculously ahead of it's time

I just googled it. It sounds really good. I think I might try it.
How well does the gameplay hold up? Or rather, how annoying is it to play?
>>3373429
not bad, the controls are unorthodox but make sense, ie you hold jump and tap a direction to jump, I think you have to hit jump and down to access the menu, it offers a lot in the way of exploration and multiple paths/options to reach your goals, I loved this game so much I read all three of the books
If you dig it definitely try alice in wonderland by the same people
Does Carmageddon count ?
It is well known and many people have played it, but how many have truly played it ? I mean, going through the story mode and finishing the races, not launching it and having fun for 10 minutes killing pedestrians.

Kek, you got a point there.
>>3372315
Yep it is quite different though.
(I'm not OP btw)
How's this for obscure? I've never seen that game mentioned anywhere, and I didn't even remember its name. I just found it today by googling "Obscure isometric RPG" and sifting through pages of image results, knowing that I'd know it when I see it. Pretty much the only things I remembered about this game before then was that it was isometric (I didn't even remember that it was 3D or that you could rotate the camera), the interface featured a round portrait of the currently selected character in the lower middle, and that the main character reminded me of BJ Blazkowicz with that chin and that hair, and that his name was MacBride.
In case you're wondering, its name is HEXPLORE.

I have, last few stages are a chore.
Master of Dimensions
nobody of you played this shit.
Only people from Sweden and the Netherlands will know it, maybe other european countries too if they got a dubbed version like the netherlands did
>>3376626
>that fucking shitdog you found everywhere.

This was a favorite as a kid. Never knew it got any dubs, wonder how they tried to capture the different accents.
Bugger båtar (boat version) was even greater in that it kept the same charm but allowed for more exploration and more freedom in roaming with a great story. Even my dad got completely hooked by it when I was playing it as a kid.

Bygger båtar* (rip other languages with E autocorrect)
First Squaresoft game released stateside. You play as a space cowboy who hunts space dragons from planet to planet. The game had a single song that played over and over for hours on end.
I still hear that song when I sleep at night.

I still have all the Dutch dubbed versions lying around somewhere
Sometimes i still like to play them in a virtual machine for childhood memories.
