I always thought Street Fighter II was some sort of Final Fight spinoff when it was first announced for the Super NES for some reason and since they're both by Capcom. it just seems natural they would mix characters from similar IPs. Hell, they already had Haggar showing up in Slam Master by '93.

Poison, Andre, and Guy are extras tossed in like two of the billion street fighters long after largely anyone who isn't retarded really gives a shit about a series that has barely progressed and is still a horrible example of why the fighting genre is mechanically awful as it stands.

These are cool. I wish Capcom would develop their lore more in games like MK does. A lot of these characters like Dudley's butler I don't think even show up in the games do they? The new story mode for V was silly but at least it showed off more characters that usually just get ignored.

I think I would be more bewildered about why they made so many updates (Champ, Turbo, Super and Super Turbo) and spinoffs (Movie, Alpha, EX) before they got around to making a real Street Fighter III. They should've stopped the updates at Turbo and just made Super the official SF III.

Shit man, there are TONS of Final Fight characters that would be awesome to add. Axl, Damnd, Edi, Slash, Carlos, that weird fucking clown from FF2 and the final boss who's name I can't remember, Lucia, the Duck King like guy with the radiation symbol on his jacket, the list goes on and on. Those games were so great.
