every zelda game i tried didnt had any effect on me, but zelda II i passed. and loved it

I may play this in a few days. What can I expect? my experience with Zeldas encompasses ALTTP, WW, Minish Cap, TP and a bit of SS.

I think they're ok, fun games but nothing more, so if the only fault Zelda II has is being different, I don't think it will bother me.

Fun... I'm having a hard time arguing with that. Other parts of the game are challenging, but mostly it is a grind. There isn't much by way of exploration or puzzles. I think it is the best game in the series but I can't think of a part that is "fun" except that boss. Good point.

It's pretty hard, especially having to navigate Death Mountain before you have downward thrust. The Great Palace is also tough. And if you die in a palace, you end up at the starting point of the game instead of respawning outside the palace you died in (aside from the GP).

I remember going to Toys 'R' Uses back in the day and they had a huge Nintendo display all behind glass and there was a demo going of Link fighting this guy. Back then he looked a lot scarier and bigger than he does now. I never played the game until years later but just that video segment stuck with me.

I'm in the middle of playing the Zelda games I missed / never finished when they were released. Should I play 2 with no help at all from the internet or is it some kind of bullshit guessing game like the first one where you have absolutely 0 chance to 100% it just using your logic?

I like the game. I just hate that there's only two respawn points in the game, you lose all EXP upon game over, and there's too many annoying enemies with erratic movement patterns placed near instant death pits.


Just a few minor touch ups would make this a solid 7.5 game.

>Spawn points upon game over now work so that you can choose to spawn at the beginning or the last town you visited. You will automatically spawn at the entrance to a dungeon if you got a game over inside it

And that's just the stuff that's feasible for an NES game. It's too bad this game has such a bad reputation. It'll never get the remake it deserves.
