Dug out my PS1 demo discs.
I miss demos.
I miss demos too.
I know the internet hooked up to consoles has made shit more convenient but it's not the same thing.

I think it's better. One of the things I liked about xbox 360 was the number of demos they had. Every single arcade and indie game has one. And 3DS does very well for demos as well. Was playing the one for the new Monster Hunter all weekend.
when i was a kid i used to steal them out of the magazines

Same, I can't believe I threw all my ps2 demos away a few years ago.
Try ripping them and uploading them.
I think it was that monthly bundle. Having demos on demand is easier, yet few and far between at the same time.
Dat MGS demo with all the Yaroze games on it.

Are demos no longer a thing?

I have a complete collection of Playstation Underground demo discs, except for the 5.1 disc that's impossible to find. I even have ebay alerts set up for it but still can't get one.
I also have a near complete collection of OPM PS2 demo discs. I miss demo discs too. There's so much good stuff and behind the scenes features on them.
Had a cheapass friend who would rarely ever buy a game. He played the shit out of the Tekken demo's one (two?) selectable characters.
Do mags still have demo discs or do they expect you to just download them now?
Did they ever release demo carts?
