I like Dracula X Chronicles but come on it in no way surpasses the original. The remixed tracks are worse, the art style is horrible, and the hit detection is slightly off.

No, it's even more censored, the graphics have ages worse due to overuse of stock effects that look gimmicky today like his overly detailed fur, the multiplayer has been changed from the wide array of gametypes in the original to an okayish bland online shooter.

I do like some of the changes though, like making the castle way more intuitive and the spinning blade puzzle easier, but the original is still better.

Nope, the only tracks that are better in Rondo are Paintings on a Ghost Ship and Moon Fight because they're 90's as hell, and even then the DXC arrangements are still gorgeous.

I prefer the graphics of the original, though I was very thankful they kept an option for the original music. The game has a certain atmosphere that doesn't quite translate to the newer versions, they they're mechanically way better and still excellent.

It's a pretty good remake, but I wouldn't say it surpassed it. The graphics are kinda dull and the hit detection is a little off. Thankfully Konami had the foresight to include both the remake and the original (and SotN too).

The original wasn't incredibly easy, but they made the battles play out much faster.
The music has been remade and it generally sounds a lot better.
Hitler has sunglasses now.
The biggest problem is that the Eternal Punishment remake was never released in the US.

FR/LG are one of the few remakes that completely supersedes the original game to me. I couldn't imagine playing Red/Blue nowadays. Maybe Yellow due to the exclusive content but still.

This is something I agree with. It really fleshes out the game a lot more and makes the cast worth a damn and not just "Lutz, nuke the enemy".

The Phantasy Star 2 remake however, bleagh. It's pretty much a reskinned port, though the faster movement speed is very welcome.

Am I one of the few who hated FR/LG? The recap everytime you loaded your save was annoying, the tutorial shit drove me crazy, and the graphics weren't much of an upgrade. The only thing I liked about it was the post E4 content.

That said, HG/SS was amazing compared to the originals.
