What are some good retro JRPGs for someone who enjoys grinding?

Megami Tensei
Phantasy Star 1

Virtually, anyone.
Dragon Warrior VII

Pic-related is more of an action RPG, but turn-based encounters exists as well.
It is meant for people who REALLY like grinding and random encounters. It'll also make sure you'll stop liking them.

Derp, forgot pic.
SaGa Frontier 2
it's one of the only games where you're allowed to grind to your heart's content
>>3333759
*Only SaGa games
is what I meant to type
FF5 has lots of room for grinding, and DQ3 lets you reclass most of your team and they go back to level 1, so you could theoretically grind forever.

Dragon Quest V
Dragon Ball Z on SFC

>Derp
See that address bar up there faggot? Click on it, type reddit.com then push enter. That's where you belong. Heck, a piece of shit like you probably has it bookmarked as well. Literally hang yourself.

I bet you reread your little post about 50 times while stroking your microdick ahahaha
>>3335670
Nah.
>all these dragon quest answers
You retards need to learn how to play video games, you suck if you have to grind in Dragon Quest
>>3335775
>implying that you can progress in DQ5 without grinding
>>3335780
You have status affect, buff, and debuff spells. Use them more. The game is actually designed around them.
>>3335780
I just beat DQ5 last night and I didn't have to do a single bit of grinding. What the hell are you doing wrong?!
>>3335802
He's not playing smart, I just think, I was a little hostile before, but I get mad when people complain about grinding when all they do is attack/heal.

>It's Rarebucky on eBay
>He has a VGA sealed copy of little Samson for $40,000.
My pick. A relatively unknown SNES rpg called Paladins quest, I'm currently playing it.

>replying to him
>>3333670
Breath of Fire 2
>>3333670
Pokémon. Literally RPG Grinding: The Game.
Any Dragon Quest, really.
FFV grinding was really satisfying. I normally try to rush as much as I can, but I ended up maxing out everything in FFV.

I got this pic from the internet. Didn't know it was associated to some ebay account.
>>3333670
Who the fuck enjoys grinding? How much of a retard do u even have to be m8
daily reminder that rpg is fucking terrible, especially turn based shit. kyss

>Who the fuck enjoys grinding?
Isn't that what all MMORPGs are about?
Final Fantasy 1
Dragon Warrior 1
NES versions, of course. Don't fall for the muh graphics jew or automatic stair climbing jew.
>>3337310
DW1 is more fun if you don't grind tbqh, it can be legit tense when you're running out of torches/fairy water in dangerous areas.
>>3336334
But all mmorpgs are shit, you can talk about the glory days of Ragnarok and Ultima all you want, but that's not what mmorpgs are anymore. They haven't been for a long time.
Lufia & The Fortress of Doom
Legend of Legaia
Both of those basically require grinding.
I blame FF for making people think JRPGs are all about grinding. Such useless status effects, buffs, and debuffs in that series. You never use them against trash mobs because you can easily kill them by mashing attack, and then the bosses are all immune to that shit anyway.
>>3337525
The biggest problem is that FF isn't made by actual game designers, who can see the problem of having a bunch of spells be essentially useless a lot of the time, and the game be so easily breakable.
Square's games are pretty good but they have generally been less polished, though. With the exception of Chrono Trigger, but I'm sure that's because of Yuji Horii's own involvement in its development.

>But all mmorpgs are shit
In our opinion, yes. And I wouldn't make an exception for "the glory days of Ragnarok and Ultima" but considering the success of a lot of them your question is easily answered with the people who play those games every day.
