I remembered my brother playing this game when I was a kid and I've been rebuilding my own Mega Drive collection in the past few years. The other day I ordered this for the sake of nostalgia.
Holy mother of Asian fuck, this game is fucking hard and bullshit as shit. Half the time your attacks go through the opponent and how the fuck are you supposed to block low when down/back makes you backflip?
I looked it up online and there's a distinct lack of any guides explaining how to play this game. I want to beat it but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I've tried to play this like a fighting game, like blocking and reacting but the CPU is just too good at countering/interrupting me.
I remember watching my brother getting to the very last boss with all his lives and simply losing so I never even experienced this game's ending.

Yep. Used to play the shit out of this at a dead Montgomery Wards kiosk. There was no timer fucntion so I eventually beat it.

It's kind of weird how they shifted the character's in-game likeness/build towards the actual Bruce Lee's (instead of modeling it straight from the unrelated Lee guy who played him in the movie)

That guy plays like shit.
The game gets easy after a bit of practice and knowing which moves are good and which moves are useless. Let me give you a hint.
You only need like 3 moves (throw, air chop, stomp) and nunchuks. Everything else is pretty useless. I can beat the game without getting hit more than like 5 times max. It's been like 12 years since I last played it, so there may be 1-2 other moves that may be useful that i can't remember

The developers of this game should have really just cloned SF2's gameplay,
Because while it was different it wasn't very fun.
Always struck me as odd that they'd take this kinda approach with a fighting game.
They had enough good characters/stages to pull of a decent SF2 clone.

So it came out in 93 for the "Seega" and 95 for the SNES? I still have an issue of Gamesmaster magazine where both versions are reviewed in the same issue.
