Just kill me now.
>Remove second half of stage 3
>Remove stage 6 & 9 entirely
>Add A FUCKING CHECKPOINT AFTER THE BOSS RUSH SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO REDO THAT PART WHEN YOU DIE EARLY ON IN THE MECHANICAL FORTRESS
Wowee look at that, I suddenly made the game actually fun to play with only 4 major changes, to bad Konami didn't figure this out during the testing phase.
Slowdown: The Game

Space Megaforce, Axelay, Parodius, and R-Type 3 are great games though.
>>3294976
So this... is the power... of the SNES!lmao
>>3296043
not the snes fault that gradius 3 was a fucking garbage game tbqh fammer
>>3294976
Isn't OP's pic the arcade version though? I'm pretty sure it is.
Get back to /v/ with your SNES hateboner, tard.

>gradius 3 was a fucking garbage game
Not as awful as IV and V, though.
>>3295951
>leaving out the best SNES STG
And you call yourself a SNES fanboy?
>>3296169
Don't you ever talk shit about gradius v. That game is one of the greatest stgs of all fucking time.
>>3296169
>Muh 2D
>>3296242
>Gradius V
>no moais or dragons
>several unskippable cutscenes
>unfitting orchestral/"epic" music
>overpowered options: freeze/directional
>levels that force you to scroll backwards
>can disable checkpoints, a Gradius staple
>too many boringly grey mechanical stages
>1x1 hitbox to appease the danmakutards
>takes 90 minutes to clear just one loop
>an overabundance of Core bosses
Gradius V... it was a fucking mistake.
>>3296268
Oh look, it's no No Moai autist.
>>3296287
Sweet deflection, fag.
>>3296301
What deflection? just saying you should stop posting the same shit over and over, nobody cares, also Gradius V isn't even /vr/
>>3296313
Does posting the same points make them any less valid? No? Then shut up and fuck off.
>>3296341
What's exactly autistic about wanting moais? They're an iconic enemy in most Gradius games.
>>3296341
>Autistic on the real sense
"? (That is, if you even know what you're talking about.)
>>3296341
Random question, but are you the same schizoid poster that calls everyone that dislikes Super Castlevania "Australia-kun"?
>>3296357
Hey australia, stop pretending that only 1 guy calls you out on your faggotry, mods are already deleting your posts all the time.
>>3296357
Nope, I don't care about Castlevania either.
>>3296359
It's also pretty autistic to complain about someone else's complaints about a game they didn't enjoy.
>>3296359
You can discuss later entries of a retro franchise on /vr/ without mod backlash.
For example, posts about Megaman 9 and 10 never get deleted around here.
>>3296379
I wouldn't mind if he didn't do it every single time Gradius is brought up, but mainly my beef is that PS2 is not retro. The less 6th gen shitposting we get, the better.
>>3296386
This is also true. I guess the guy should stop repeating himself so much, I wouldn't notice it if he only mentioned it every once in a while, instead of every single time Gradius is discussed.
>>3296313
I wish this board was about any outdated vidya, like psp games.

Supposedly they actually did intend for you to be out there and dodge everything like in that webm. Apparently the "hide behind a barrier of stuck cubes" strat most people use isn't something they foresaw.
Parodius was here.

Arcade Parodius DA and Gradius III have pretty similar slowdowns though.
Slowdowns aren't bad if they are balanced with a good challenge.
Gradius 3 on the arcade is insane. Just getting to the 2nd boss is harder than clearing 50% of other games.
*Virtually every enemy both moves or shoots in ways that are very difficult to anticipate, even if you memorize every spawn point they still throw you curve balls. Not only that but memorizing is a million times harder because the rank system is constantly changing the enemy fire rate and projectile count.
*Compunding that is the game loves to put enemies in your blind spot, enemies that cannot be attacked until the screen has scrolled a lot or that they spawn behind you. There are also plenty of enemy formations where you only have a narrow wind to kill the target before the screen formation reaches a point where he is basically unkillable and you just have to dodge everything until he scrolls off. Oh and the special weapons you have that let you hit enemies at angles all require set up to get the proper position, escpially the options. So you can't just move out of the way of attacks in any direction you feel like it. You need to do it while similatiously positioning your option to fire arching bombs that make it into the tiny crevice with the cluster of turrets, and if you miss your chance those turrets are there to stay.
*The game is very claustrophobic, constantly throwing you into tight areas with little room to dodge and having you weave in and out of terrain all while dealing with the above issues.
*Recovering from a death is extremly hard, boarderline impossible at certain check points. You basically need to be the game without dying, even if you do have epic recovery skills you have very, very few lives.
