I was playing one of these carts when I accidentally hit the side of my nes, freezing the game. Now the cart won't boot up at all. Is there a way to get it working again or is it fucked?
>>
Have you even tried opening it up yet to find the problem?
>>
>>3282726
Yeah, it's just a board with some chips on it. Nothing that I have the capacity to fix.
>>

Is it a Famicom cart connected to an NES converter? If so, you should reseat it. Otherwise, these glop-top multi-carts can burn out with time, but it's likely unrelated to smacking your NES.

No, there's no converter or anything. The only thing I can think of is that something happened to the part of the cart that bypasses the lockout chip when it got hit .
>>
>>3282724
Try hitting the other side of the console.
>>

Pin connectors on the cart could be loose/damaged/bad, but it's also a bootleg, and who knows what quality they are.

Could also be that pin connectors on your NES are dinged. Try other cartridges on it.

With that said, actually replacing pin connectors on the NES and it's cartridges is actually quite cheap and easy, but if you don't think you can do it, someone who has a good hand with electronics should be able to do it for you no sweat, ask in a retro game shop.

Otherwise you could likely find good guides on YouTube to do it yourself, it's easy to find replacement connectors on Amazon or EBay.

Aren't you gonna tell him to blow into it?
>>

>Aren't you gonna tell him to blow into it?

No. That corrodes the pins. Use alcohol and a qtip.
>>
>>3282921
Other games work fine, it's just this cart. It's doing the whole blinking power light thing, so I might try disabling the lockout chip on my NES.
>>
>>3283000
You could disable the 10NES chip.
>>
>>3282724
I believe the CIC chip in the Chinese carts has some functionality tied to the reset button. Put in the cart and hit reset either 5 or 10 times and see if it works.
>>
>>3283075
This is correct afaik. I think the sellers even say that on the item page(s).
>>
>>3283075
Holy fucking shit that worked thank you so much
>>
Id really enjoy it if they made one of these multi carts for sega master system.
>>
>>3284128

I've been searching and searching. I can't find any. I'm trying to resist buying a 100$ everdrive. I want a 10$ multicart ._.
