Is it actually perfect?
yes.
>>3279751
I liked the NES version better but yes. It's a perfect game with no flaws, much like Pac-Man, Street Fighter II and Super Mario Bros 3.
>>3279756
>Super Mario Bros 3.
One of these things is not like the other.
>>3279751
Dirty soviet propaganda. It makes me ill that so many logheads eat it up.
It's perfect as a 10 minute distraction.
>>3279758
I was just naming the first shit that came to mind. Maybe it's not perfect, but it's pretty flawless. SMB1 was perfect though.
>>3279756
This.
The Gameboy version is great, but the Nintendo (not Tengen) version is smoother and more addicting.
>>3279817
No SMB was not perfect. The only perfect platformer is Wonder Boy.
>>3279751
I like Earthbound.
>>3279802
I wish.
I usually last more like 30 minutes.
If it had the hold block function I could go longer
>>3279751
>doesn't save your scores when you shut off the system
It's SHIT! My mom used to play and wrote all her best scores on masking tape and stuck them to the back of the system.
>>3279852
>SMB was not perfect
In what way? It's absolutely perfect with no flaws.
>>3279852
Oh yeah?
>>3279887
It doesn't control as well as Wonder Boy.
>>3279835
But the Tengen version has the two player modes.
Which can be played on your own if you want, as there's more than enough buttons on modern pads.
>>3279892
Hi Xaxton
Yeah, but that's not even the best version on GB
DX had better DAS (unless you actually like button mashing the d-pad), time limit mode, 40 line mode, suspend state for marathon, etc.
>>3281363
It also has the wall glitch.
I mean, you don't have to abuse it, but it is there.
Post your best Tetris scores
>>3281731
Beat this nerdsAnyone else play The Grandmaster?
>>3281773
I feel really shitty when I play TGM.
>>3281782
That's understandable, but those scores you're posting are pretty good. I'm sure you could do well in TGM. It's not actually that much harder than NES Tetris (TGM1 at least), it's just that you need a completely different approach which can be unintuitive at first.
What's the farthest you got?
>>3279763
I cant stand it when the bricks hit the top of the screen and I get sent to gulag.
>>3279903
SMB3 controls better than Wonder Boy.
>>3281731
working on trying to get better at playing higher speeds
>>3281794
Not that guy, but I can GM TGM1 at like 11-12ish and find the NES game completely mystifying and frustrating as fuck.
Way different approaches. When I tried learning/practicing NES I gained a lot of respect for those guys that can counterstop.
I've gotten so sick of chipping away at my times in TGM1 and failing. The sub-20g half is unbearably slow and I'm tired of the grind. I like death but I'm in my late 20s and think I hit my reaction ceiling and it's getting worse
I've had more fun lately with DX time limit mode, which is kind of broken since the randomizer isn't as deterministic as TGM or TTC crap, but still casual fun.
I guess that what's makes Tetris the GOAT - can accommodate tryhards and casuals alike
>>3281794
I can't say I really played it enough to get a sense of how far I can get.
>Game Boy version doesn't save scores
What's the point of even having a high score table?
>>3281731
mine is around 150K,but i just recently started to play maybe 1-2 months ago.
>>3279753
First answer got it
>>3279758
australia-kun, inhale zyklon B and end your miserable existence.
>>3282205
this faggotry really gets to me.
GET OUT!
>>3282205
>Play Bomberman 2 NES
>10K no extra life
>50K no extra life
>100K no extra life
>250K no extra life
>racking up points doesn't give extra life
>final stages
>0 lives
>lose
>gives me password for the level
>there is no scoreboard
>scoreboard reset to 0000000000
It doesn't do anything,it triggered me so much.
Like I don't want passwords to spawn on levels I need extra lives so I could finish the game in one run.2 lives from start to finish is just no enough.
>>3282689
>score resets to*
>>3281965
>I can GM TGM1 at like 11-12ish and find the NES game completely mystifying and frustrating as fuck.
This is exactly what's so perfect about Tetris. You can take the same basic ruleset, change a few things and it becomes a completely different game you have to re-learn with different goals and strategies. Few games have this much depth.
>I guess that what's makes Tetris the GOAT - can accommodate tryhards and casuals alike
This too, literally anyone can enjoy Tetris.
What is the best (retro) version of Tetris?
>>3283894
Gameboy of course
>>3283894
NES version
>>3283894
Megadrive Tengen.
>>3283973
>>3283980
Both are only half right.
NES Tengen is the correct answer.
>>3279756
SF2 has a ton of jank shit in it. Just ask the people who've been playing it for 25 years
>>3283995
>New Tetris
You fucked up, son.
>>3284009

>>3283995

>>3284034

>>3284030
Wow are you a scrub or what
>>3284041
>calling HIM a scrub
>when you like hold mode, which is for casuals

>>3284009
Hnnnng, goat
>>3284042
>not having trigger discipline
Yeah he's a scrub. Oh fuck this game it has extra optional features I don't like and don't have to use please shove more dicks in my face and ass
Should Tetris have ghost pieces, y/n?
>>3284053
>please shove more dicks in my face and ass
you seem upset
>>3284057
absolutely not.
>>3284109
You seem to be choking on dicks
Does someone have the animated background rips from TGM2?
