There. Done.
Mega Man 4 on NES is my favorite

That's tough, I would say 4 with 9 close by. 4 feels like it got nearly everything right, 2 and 3 have better soundtracks but 4's bad at all.

Let's be honest. It's not good.

V is one of the very best classic games, I'll have you know. And just be grateful I opted not to include DOS in there.
>8 has 3 votes and is in second
Either two of you are bullshitting, or this is very weird.
MM8 is my favourite. Fight me, fags.
>>3251034
This. MM&B is fantasic and the most underrated game in the classic series.

This nigga knows what's up.
killer ost.
Megaman 2 is the perfect one, also has a 10/10 soundtrack
Legends.
>Mega man 8
lol
I love MM4. Good weapons, cool stages, a nice difficulty curve, has the slide and megabuster and it also isn't as easy as the later NES games.
I like all of the games tho

Frostman theme ftw

Did people finally realize the overrated piece of shit it actually is?

What is the best way to play the Megaman games?
I played Megaman 2 years ago on an emulator and I really liked it, it can be played in one sitting too which can be nice sometimes.
I recentlydownloadedthe 3ds legacy collection and it is a shit port, it lags like hell and some stages are simply unplayable.
What is the best emulator? Controller or keyboard?
Thanks.

I suppose Mega Man 6?
Why is 2 always considered the best?
The Wily stages are pure fucking tedium and perfect examples of god awful level/boss design.
Everything before that is basically perfect, though, I have to admit.

This is a shot in the dark but I had assumed 2's popularity was because at the time it was really a huge deal how impressive it was; and as you said, the first half of the game is a wonderful time.
So my guess here is, 2's praise comes from people who played it when it came out, probably as kids. I'd imagine for the longest time they never got around to finishing 2, so most of the adoration is from veterans who grew up on the first half of the game.
If that makes any sense, I mean. I'm just guessing here.

I'd probably have been fine with this game if it wasn't for jetboarding sections. They dragged my opinion of the game down so hard. Otherwise decent and Tengu Man is one of my favourite designs.
I went with 9 since it's the only one I played enough for it to burn into my mind as a favourite. I should really replay the series sometime and refresh my memory.
4 and 6 were pretty good too iirc.
I am particularly fond of &Bass - although it came at very end of its life-cycle. Which explains great music, graphics... It was flawed, but it holds special place in my heart.
Outside of that, I have good memories of 4/5.

Thats quite some help...

8 is the best, don't let the contrarians tell you otherwise.
