Greatest shooter of all time.
>>3220294
Akumajou Densetsu is Castlevania III in Eazy Modo.
>>3220294
Does this one count?
Everyone bitches about the difficulty of Double Dragon III, but I always found it pretty simple.
>>3220375
Some things are easier, other things are harder. I plan on beating the US version deathless soon, main reason i'm playing jap version is the music is MUCH better on it.
>>3220393
>other things are harder
Such as? It's been awhile, but IIRC Akumajou Densetsu was easier for me in every respect.
>>3220397
grant has a throwing knife instead of fast stabbing knife that he holds which is easier to kill bosses with
if you continue after dying to dracula you have to do all of Stage A again, on US version you start at Dracula
Jap version deal less damage on the first few levels and matches US damage in the later levels, i don't really see the big deal here as the first few levels are easy either way
doppleganger in Jap version does SIX points of damage with Syfa fire spell (this COULD be the same in US version, i can't remember)
Alucard bat form uses hearts incredibly fast in the Jap version. In the US version they drain slowly allowing you to basically fly through the cave half the time.
Apart from that the only other difference is the audio and some of the item placements (which candles hold which weapons, etc).
>>3220341
>18 different stages
WTF is this? Did they add more for the GC version?
>>3220412
>item placement
You cant get the lightning spell really early on the ship in the Japanese version, which makes it a little easier. I don't know if any others really change the game.
>>3220442
probably counting different difficulties and modes like fags
>>3220662
step up, nigga
>>3220294
Contra Hard Corps and Streets of Rage 3.
>>3220384
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Cleared hard mode once on a single life. Don't think I'll ever do it again though. Requires pretty extensive memorization (e.g. memorizing item and enemy placement, which weapons works best for each situation, when to use the mega bombs, ect.)
>>3220352
>i haven't really played any other shootemup besides Ikaruga so I think its the best
>>3220954
Greatest bait of all time.
>>3220960
ikr
underage anons never played in the arcades and dont know any better.
>>3220294
Probably nothing that insane, but I can loop pacman on 1 quarter
>>3220841
the weeks of training and build up is pretty great though
>>3220294
This, literally once (Rat Race is usually the tricky one for me); the japanese version is more casually doable though
>>3220324
people actually play video games here on retro, you wouldn't believe it!
"Can" as in "I've done it, but it would probably take some practice to do it again" for Gradius 2.
Best I can do is Megaman 2 on hard. I really need to git gud at stuff.
Does one ball on Tales of the Arabian Nights count? I can rescue the princess in just one ball
Ninja Gaiden NES and Alien Soldier Euro. Tried to move up to arcade game 1ccs and was promptly shut down.
I could beat Contra without taking any hits, so I tried speed-running it. Could never get the hang of rapid-firing by tapping on the B button, so the end-boss would always mess up my runs.
>>3221053
>Beating Battletoads without losing a life
Your country should award you a medal.
>>3221416
>Best I can do is Megaman 2 on hard
I'm equally impressed you can beat the boss in stage 4 of Dr. Wily's Fortress, on the hard difficulty, without losing a life. Nice work.
>>3220384
I'm onto you, anon.
>>3222153
there's a glitch for that where you don't need the full powerup thingy, but either way it's impressive to be beating that annoying fucker on hard.
>>3220294
oh wow you're good at the easymode jap version clapclap so impress wow
>>3220412
>if you continue after dying to dracula you have to do all of Stage A again, on US version you start at Dracula
you've got this backwards
>>3220294
I've done Contra and Contra 3 deathless.
Can't think of any others off of the top of my head. SMB, but I don't think a warp pipe run qualifies as hard.
>>3220841
It's so damned satisfying the first time you pull it off. It was my most played game as a kid.
Ghosts 'n Goblins Arcade
>>3225857
Damned lies.
>>3220697
I can complete this game literally blindfold with both hands literally tied behind my back.If you leave the game alone for a while Barney starts walking to the end of the stage of his own accord
